    Daily 90006 disconnects

Hello, I recently started playing XIV on my PS4 back in April, and play on Gilgamesh. Not sure if it matters but that's on Aether on the North American data center. I can't recall when it started, but over a month ago I started to get 90006 disconnect alerts during gameplay. I could be in a dungeon, in the field, watching a cinema... anything, and I can get the alert.

90006 seems to be happening with a higher frequency now, multiple times a day. My connection is PS4 Pro > ethernet > router > ethernet > modem. When the 90006 happens and I'm taken back to character login screen I will see the connection status as Excellent most of the time. Sometimes it will say Poor and fluctuate back and forth with Excellent before landing there. Also, when the 90006 occurs I my internet is connected otherwise. Speedtests show like 220+ Mbps down, and 10+ mbps up.

This error seems to unfortunately be historic and there's not a lot of concrete steps for PS4 or PC.

Is there anything I can do with PS4 or network equipment to avoid this? I've been considering getting a new router aside from this issue since the one I have is oldish, but things seem fine on the surface for all other activity. Its just becoming too frequent that its frustrating the MSQ experience.

Playing on Light Datacenter and having issues.

Did a tracert and seems the problem is definitely on SE's end.

Then I tried the VPN client some user talked about in this topic (exitlag), using that I've managed to play the game.
So, could be a problem with my ISP (fastweb in Italy) or could be a problem with Square Enix servers, some routing not working as it should maybe.... don't know.

Hey i also am in Italy using fastweb and having this problem is there a way to work out what to do?

You can try to use the VPN client Exitlag, it's free for 3 days, at least you can see if it works and don't need to spend any money.

I'm currently using it and playing with no lag or connection problem.

Don't know If I'm going to pay for a VPN client just to play FFXIV... really hope Square addresses the matter, still have a ticket opened with support.

    Suddenly started getting 90002 disconnections

I've been playing FFXIV daily without any connection (or any other bugs) problems for over two years. The dreaded 90002 connection drops just started two days ago. They now happen relentlessly about 3-4 times per hour. I've tried most commonly recommended fixes (eg disable large send offloads, flush DNS, use Google DNS etc) without any success. Also been getting quite few in-game lags. Have a support ticket pending, in the meantime I'm re-installing the game on a second, more or less vanilla, version of W10 on a separate partition on the same rig and will try running it with no AV software installed (living dangerously, eek!). Apart from a VPN, I'm running out of options.

I understand the FFXIV player base has been expanding considerably recently. Anyone think this could be causing the problem? And if so, why just me?

As much as the moderators are instructed to point the finger at the people who play this game. There are plenty of ways this can be proven as an SE issue. If SE doesn't stop being cheap and fix this, they are going to have a class action lawsuit coming their way.

MY DISCONNECTION PROBLEMS ARE FINALLY SOLVED

After much complaining and finger pointing at SE it turned out to be my cable modem.
SE kept telling me they had no problems with their network, Virgin media kept telling me there were no problems on their network. At the times they checked it may have been working ok.

I was using an older Virgin Media Hub 2, it was replaced with a newer Hub 3
The modem was replaced Friday morning, and not one disconnect was had all weekend.

I don't know if the hardware had developed fault, or if the Hub 3 runs different software, but the problem is gone for me.

To other people having the same issue, it could be worth asking your ISP for a replacement modem if you too have an older model.

This may assist some (upgrading their modem) especially if they are on the older docsis standard. You will want at the least 28 bonded channels. If your isp supports proper dynamic routing you may see fewer connection issues because you are now able to be hopped onto less congested routs.

However annnnd there is a biiiig but here do not worry about this if you are not on 2.5 plus gigabit ethernet. Docsis 3.0 is more then sufficient for most especially those trapped in America land. The issue will not resolve permanently because the overloaded nodes are within the NTT network (Square's network). Even Comcast of all things report acceptable ping until the route leaves into the NTT network. As more and more fresh sprouts join us over here in Eorzea even the vpn will not be enough to prevent connection issues. Am already noticing that on Exitlag during prime hours I must switch my route several times to avoid congested nodes.

So I talked to my ISP and got a new modem on Thursday. Was working like a charm til Friday night. Logged in for raid on Saturday afternoon and BAAM, bad internet again on both WiFi and LAN cable (I'm a PS4 player). Same symptoms. Rubberbanding, dualcasts not getting consumed, people teleporting/just not moving, castbars not resolving etc. Had no choice but to revert to old 4G again.

I'm here like everyone else for 90006 (BSOD equivalent).
    Hoping for a solution soon
