    The loss of connection has been really bad this weekend so far, as well as last weekend, (although not quite as bad during the week). Also there is a lot more chat on Novice Network the last week or 2, an influx of new players?

    It seems likely the two things are connected, more players = more frequent disconnections.

    Also I have been trying "Exit Lag" this weekend on their 3 day free trial, it has not fixed the issue.

    I believe @MiaShino has hit the nail on the head, the servers are overloaded and it would seem some players on certain ISP's are more likely to suffer the disconnections than others.

    The drop outs have been getting steadily worse since I started in January, but the last few weeks have been REALLY bad, and weekends are the worst.

    Today I created a new character on the other EU server LIGHT, I was disconnected after about 20 mins, it's no better there.

    Would someone please escalate this problem to Network staff to have a look at, the game is almost unplayable at this point.

    Edit: Removed the ping plotter traces showing cyclic packet loss, it was something to do with my PC that a reboot cured.
    The disconnection fault still stands, as both my PC and my wifes PC have the same very frequent random disconnections.

    No issues all day yesterday and today this morning until right now in the afternoon, I'm getting kicked out of the game constantly 90002, 90006 and 2002!

    Returning to this thread because there are many many already browsing it to deliver a warning to any using Exitlag or other VPNs.

    If you begin to receive a "password/id" incorrect message while logging in follow the bellow steps.
    Close exitlag.
    Load launcher and enter password and one time code.
    Open exitlag again.
    Click the launch button.

    You will now be playing through your VPN, just replace the Exitlag with the vpn that you use and all will work. It would appear that Square will flag IP addresses that appear suspicious causing their authentication service to deny login credentials. This is umm.. mildly infuriating. Either fix the fricken NTT node or give whitelist option. I was told using one time password would prevent this yet it has not. Now instead of requesting password reset it simply blacklists the "offending" ip address.

    I know it is not Japanese way to complain so I deliver warning instead. I have other things that I could be doing with my time and my dosh that do not involve finding ways around Square's unwillingness to allocate funds. Good day.

    Ran into this issue tonight. I'm getting almost 50% packet loss from 209.2.229.234. ExitLag helps but I still get disconnect issues almost every 30mins. If I run it without ExitLag, forget it. It will crash the minute I get on the server. So SE, when are you going to fix this issue with the NTT node? 35 pages and counting....

    Which region are you selecting through Exitlag? It requires small bits of guessing but you wish to select a region that causes you to route around the overloaded node. For me I must route out of country so Canada works, this takes me through New York (sometimes Ashburn) up to Canada then back down around the Sacramento node. Tis not perfect because if too many connect from Canada or use that route through Exitlag we have same issue again. Still! I shall take 20-55 ping over 110-180 ping any fricken day!

    I actually get better ping to Japan or the EU then California..

    So far the LA04 has been the most stable, but that is disconnecting every 30mins to an hour. I've tried CA, but it is not as stable and lags pretty badly for me. My ping is not the problem. I'm roughly getting 25-50ms ping on whatever route I chose. My packet loss is the issue. I'm on AT&T Fiber 1gig in the Atlanta area. Ever since about a month ago, it has become impossible to play the game.

    I'm not even doing instance content. The only thing I've been doing is running New Game+ to replay the story. I've opened all the proper ports, followed everything that has been posted by the dev team to fix this issue (IE Changes), I'm a wired connection with a current speedtest at 940mbps down and 940mbps up, I've updated my DNS to Cloudflare and flushed and renewed it on my PC, I've reset my router twice and manually put in my settings. Short of changing my ISP, I've done everything conceivable to fix this issue.

    I've now had to resort to a paid VPN which still doesn't frickin' work. At this point I've resign after 8 years of paying my sub that I might not be able to play this game anymore....

    I'm also have severe connection problems the last month. Whereas before I've never ever had a connection problem with FFXIV. Ever since the beginning of June I get constant disconnects and its gotten so bad there are times during peak play hours where I get back into the game and then it disconnects me within 10 seconds repeatedly! During off peak hours I can go hours without getting disconnected but this is super frustrating because I can't do duties or anything when I'm constantly getting disconnected and I keep losing mats when I'm trying to craft.
    I've tried everything I can find to fix this. Everything is up to date, I haven't changed anything -- its the servers because I've tried multiple computers on different networks and they all do it. I've also tried clearing IE cache, switching dns servers, rolling back updates, turning off firewalls, turning off antivirus, changing ip, etc. I've also uninstalled, restarted the computer and reinstalled. I am on the Leviathian server, please fix this! I'm about ready to unsub because I'm paying and cannot even play!

    3 days that can't actually play, already checked all the stuff the support page says, have no internet connection problem (fiber 100mb), got the modem this year, upnp enabled, tried to disable firewall ... changed the connection using my phone as hotspot.

    Opening a case with the support, hope square address this topic soon.

    quick update hoping this can help anyone:
    Tried to create a new char on a American Datacenter and the game actually works, got double the latency but non lag and disconnection as for the European Servers.
    Try to do some ping test with the IP used for the ffxiv process, the European IP lose some packets the American one does not lose any packet.
    Then I tried the VPN client some user talked about in this topic (exitlag), using that I've managed to play the game.
    So, could be a problem with my ISP (fastweb in Italy) or could be a problem with Square Enix servers, some routing not working as it should maybe.... don't know.
