Whats wrong with the housing demo timer??

Seriously this can't be just some stupid coincidence, that's my 5th attempt buying a plot in 10 days and it always unlock when most ppl sleep or getting ready for work.

Im from germany and play on Ragnarok, my timezone is UTC +2. This shitty plots always show up when its already pretty late here (between 22 - 24h) and unlock every time happend between 5:00 and 6:30.

How do i know that? Because i left my char logged in and looked and the chat later when i got back. Of course im not ingame myself at a time like this.


So how do im supposed to get a plot even if there are just 1 or 2 other ppl besides me that try to buy the plot? Should i getting unemployment, ruining my RL and sleep for this shit, hiring a monkey or maybe some asian dudes? Maybe i should just give a shit about and use a bot like a lot of other ppl i have seen.

Fiona I must be bluntly honest as a person who once owned 3 houses(at different times, not all at once), - they are not worth altering your RL for.

Demo timers are off currently. I think you mean the devaluation timer and it sucks. I hate it with a passion.

I still don't understand people playing for 5 years still cursing about houses... I have 3 alts with houses and helped my bf to get his houses as well with no problem in EU server as well. Should've bought houses before they set the timers since you were in the game that time.

Ragnarok, Zodiarch (both Legacy servers) and Cerberus have always been among the most populated EU servers. Housing problems started to rise during HW and not everyone wish to move to another server/world.

For my part, the current system is far too restrictive and rigid. I owned two mansions, and lost them because of a hiatus and finally I got a new one... I abandoned. To build the house of glitches in a dormitory city, considering we can lose house just sounds... boring. I've lost interest. But since I'm interested in a Wildstar-like system, I keep advocating, without illusions, for some kind of overhaul.

Same. While I don't know all my neighbours, there's often enough a shout convo whenever someone mt's and we get along fine. It's kinda nice and homey, imo.

It should also be noted that the timers dont apply if someone transfers from 1 plot to another, but the plot they vacate will then be freed up and go on a timer. So it could be that folks are transferring to the plot your looking at.

Thats right and that's why i highly refuse to participate in this idiotic nonstop placecard clicking for hours. But the thing is i need an FC house for the workshop. If i could use this with just a regular house i wouldnt bother at all. I wouldnt even willingly convert my house into an FC one if that would be possible. Honestly this whole shit is just a pain in the a... I have full capped char, i have more than enough money and i even created my FC in just in order to experience this one feature i wanted to try out all the time since it was released and now that i have got everything i need i can't use it because im not able to get a shity plot for the FC house.

This is the first time since i created this char in 1.0 that im seriously thinking about switching servers just because of that. I already even emptied all my storages and freed my inventory and retainers from unimportant stuff to have enough space just in case.

Yea sorry im really a bit frustrated about this whole thing.


@Leloa for the case that you didn't seen it im from Ragnarok, EUs largest Servers and always full since 2.0. Before the changes it was only possible for the most time to buy plots via external websites becauses of the ridicules prices that normal players couldn't afford, we are talking about more than 100mil+ gil just for small plots in most cases. They where simply not affordable for normal players, even after SE lifted the FC only restriction and made them available for everyone. There are simply to mutch greedy ppl out there that just see the profit for themself and don't care about fairness or if they ruin the fun others, its just like in RL.

A lot of the plots back than where owned by people that had multiple alts just for owning multiple houses so they could block the plots and sell it very expensive. I wouldn't wonder if a lot of these accounts with tons of plots where gil sellers back than. Also back than transferring had more limitations than today and i dont wanted to leave my FC just because of that back than.

This. It's not like I talk to all my neighbours, but I like running around seeing people there and also admiring how they decorate their plots (though mine is still empty because I'm trying to redesign it but I'm out of gil... well, at least the garden is done /sigh). The only complains I have is items amount limit and strong need of using glitches if you want to make something specific.

As for plots hunting... I was on Ragnarok, and was lucky to get S in Shiro, but in general hunting for plots on overpopulated servers is a PITA. I wanted a medium in Shirogane, and since I didn't really have anything what would tie me to the server, I transferred to Spriggan and took the exact plot I wanted to. If people want for a house badly and don't have circumstances that stop them from transferring - they should consider it as an option. For those who can't transfer... well, good luck. I doubt that there will be any 100% workable solution for this issue ever.

So it IS even weirder that so many ppl gave up the plot at one eve, or relocated... Maybe random some fc's disbanding and former member taking the plots, but... 8-9? Ik for sure as i checked 3x to tell my friend and the others waiting there. 6 plots with some of them having 2 free houses.

I mean, not to be that person that jumps to horrible conclusions right away, but in these times it isn't uncommon for people to lose their jobs not to mention potentially die or have a loved one die. There's plenty of reason not to resub, moreso than ever. I wouldn't be surprised if on one server it just so happened that 9 plots became available. It already wouldn't be a stretch during a normal period, just unlikely. So now a days? I don't think there's any conspiracy to be had here.
