Whats the deal with this 90 day world transfer suspension

I've been playing for about 5 days now. I started on one of the North American data servers only to have to switch to a different data server the next day to join my friend on the Goblin world. Then more of my friends started playing / got on the game and most of us were on Diablos. My friend on Goblin then transferred saying I should have no problems doing so leaving me the only character on Goblin and I was trying to transfer last night.

I spent two whole days questing exploring and leveling my character only to find out that apparently because my character was created on a "preferred world" which is just a server that doesn't have a lot of people on it I need to wait THREE MONTHS in order to just join 7 of my friends who are in the process of making a company.

To me this just seems kinda silly. I've had to create two characters cause everyone I know is trying to get on the same world and when we all finally settled on a world after I created two characters and spent two days leveling my current character my only options are to wait THREE MONTHS or create a new character and DO EVERYTHING AGAIN?

It seems wrong as I'm ready and willing to spend 18$ NOW to transfer my character but just because my character was made on a preferred world (THAT MIND YOU turned into an overpopulated world where my friends couldn't even create characters on RIGHT AFTER I CREATED MY CHARACTER) that I need to wait about 90 days?

Can someone explain this logic to me? I only want to do company work with my friends.

I hate that I'm contemplating making A THIRD CHARACTER meaning I'd be a whole two days behind everyone else in my group. Who knows after this quarantine I might not even have the time in 3 months to consistently play.

There are benefits to your character that you get when creating a character on a preferred world that you don't get when creating one on other servers. The world transfer restriction is there to prevent people from creating characters to get these benefits and then transferring to another server thus ignoring the preferred server designation. The point of this server status is to get people to populate that specific server because it has lower raw population compared to other servers, so letting people transfer away from it right after creating a character there would defeat the point of the benefit entirely.

Your best option in your situation in my opinion is to just create a new character on Diabolos. 2 days of catch up is not that much in the grand scheme of things.

Character creation restrictions on a server are a different thing from a server's status and is not based on raw population alone. I've seen servers flip between being open for character creation and closed in a single day before.

Maybe create a new character if your existing characters are on the wrong region. We have easy ways to preview other worlds and DCs.

Because people are too stupid to read and understand how world transfers work, including the restrictions? You knew you couldn't go back at once - or at least you SHOULD have known, you transferred anyway, and now you are whining that you don't like it.
