Hey i today i ran to this issue when i disabled my User Access Control from windows registery.

if you have previously disabled it you can re-enable it from

1- registery editor : "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System"

2- double click EnableLUA

3- set the value to 1

4- restart your pc (you must do that)

Hey, thanks for the check Selvaa! I took a look into that earlier on, my UAC stuff is never enabled due to constant prompts and such for my area of work, so enabling/disabling it SHOULDN'T affect anything because it never been an issue before... that said I did some research and starting looking through recent (went back about 2-3 months) Windows 10 updates and there were infact some changes made to how UAC may flag in certain games depending on anti-cheat or background application controls!

Long story short, I enabled UAC, ran some updates to allow Windows to apply the patches to UAC stuff, ran a repair/check for FFXIV installation, and then jumped online...not a single issue yet! I also did re-disable UAC, I still have to work and that box is my enemy!!, and whatever was patched up, adjusted, or removed with that process has fixed the issue completely it would seem. Fingers crossed that it holds out but absolutely a solid find on that bit of weirdness, let's try to get this information out to other people please so that they can have a resolution as well.

Just enable it, update check, reboot, check/repair FFXIV (please backup character files before!!), then you should be fine to re-disable it.

I see where I made my error, I enabled UAC before, but never let it update. It seems to work now... that is some stupid crap right there lol
