30002 Error, can't log in

I noticed other threads of people being unable to log in to their characters and getting the 30002 error but since the mods keep locking the threads, I have no idea if anyone has had their problem resolved.

I could log in just fine last friday night (3/30) but starting saturday morning and ever since then it won't let me. I select my character and it sits at a black screen for a bit then spits out the error.

Has ANYONE had this fixed through the support center? They just sent me an email with the same crap that's already posted in the support center for basic connection issues. I JUST reactivated my account to try the new content and I have to say I'm more disappointed than ever. I'm finally paying and can't even play.

Ok, so the moderators here tell us to contact the support center but the support center just copies and pastes what is on their website about troubleshooting your connection. It is NOT a connection issue. The best part is that it takes nearly a week to just copy and paste. Now THAT is service. Hopefully one day you guys will have a game that's worth the crysta I spent for FFXIV, because I'm sure not using any more of it on XIV.

Hi,
I've been getting this error too, but it happens once I'm inside the game. I can't even be on for 5 minutes without getting thrown out. This is a problem I've been getting since the server merge... I was hoping today's maintenance would solve it, but it keeps happening.

It's definitely not a problem on my end either. I play other games online just fine.

I'm guessing your problem is this:

A Notice to Players Resuming Their Recurring Service Option (Mar. 28)

The World merge was performed on March 27, 2012. In this merger, all characters will be transferred from their old Worlds to the new ones. However, because this would dramatically increase the volume of characters, we only transferred characters within a service account that had the “Subscribed” status as of both March 26 and March 27, 2012.

The transfer was not performed on characters that did not have the “Subscribed” status on either March 26 or March 27, 2012, or on both days. Transfer of these characters will be performed gradually at a later time. Once the transfer is complete, players will be able to play on their characters in the new World if they have completed the steps to resume their automatic recurring service options.

Priority for the character transfer will be given to players who resume their automatic recurring service option before the transfer process is completed. However, please note that it will take several days after a player resumes their automatic recurring service option for the completed transfer to take effect.

* Transfer of all characters is scheduled to be completed between mid to late April.

We deeply apologize for the belated announcement and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Since your character was not active during the server merge process, your character didn't get transfered off the original server yet. Those old servers are no longer live and therefore you can not connect to it. 30002 error means you timed out while trying to connect to the server (server is down).

Yeah I saw that and kind of hoped that was the case, but I was playing fine friday night (3/30) and the next morning, and ever since, I haven't been able to.

Edit: Btw the patch today did nothing for me, either.

Either way, that is GARBAGE. If an SE rep confirms this through the ticket I sent, all it means is that I won't be playing their game at all. "We deeply apologize" doesn't cut it. Yet another reason why SE has fallen off the deep end.
