I keep crashing, before this patch I never had an issue but I can't even get in before my game crashes. Started to crash as soon as I loaded into Golden Saucer.

I'm getting the dx11 errors, too, and have just since the patch. Game was fine before 5.3. Currently stuck and unable to log in at the Moonfire Faire. Crashes/errors seem to occur most when teleporting from a less populated area to a more densely populated area (from Foundation to Firmament, from Kholusia to Eulmore, from squadron barracks to Old Gridania) or when it starts to rain in a densely populated area (Moonfire Faire, Crystarium).
My game has been having issues with crashing since downloading patch 5.3. Just randomly cuts to desktop without any error messages. Never had this issue before and I thought it was possibly my GPU, but no other game is having issues.
That's not tied to the size of population. I logged out in Dravanian Forelands (i'm pretty sure it's not a very populated zone) before the update. And since then, i was unable to connect. Every time i try to get to the character selection, the game crash with DX11 error messages.
And since the game has a "fatal DX error" when i try with DX9 instead of DX11, i've already lost three days. That really kills the hype.
Progress was made (I guess)!
Now I don't have 4 error messages... I have 5! And the middle one is different from the others!
Please fix it![]()
having this happen to me too. crashed twice in ghimlyt dark last night and i just had a crash in holminster switch; before that, i kept crashing in an MSQ cutscene; and before THAT, i kept crashing every time i tried to teleport to the firmament on patch day.
ive reinstalled the game twice, deleted and reinstalled the patch 4 times, updated windows, installed the dx11 runtimes twice, ran the game on dx9, and have repeatedly messed with the FPS caps and graphics settings. reinstalling the patch seemed to be working for about an hour before the game would crash again.
the dx11 errors are the same each time. these are the ones i'm getting:
An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.

getting sad because i just wanna play the game it's so good!!!!!! :-(
I've been playing this game since ARR beta. I don't think I had even crashed a single time until patch 5.3. These first couple days since the patch I've been crashing multiple times a day. In different cutscenes, in raids and dungeons, and at my glamour dresser. It never gives me an error message. The game has basically become unplayable for me. I have a high end pc and basically nothing about my setup has changed in at least a year. All that changed was they released patch 5.3 and I went from the game running flawlessly to crashing nonstop. Not sure what to do considering it looks like this issue has been going on for months for some very unlucky people. I've easily put thousands into the game at this point, and now that I can't reliably run a raid without crashing I can't really play at all. Based on the age of this thread it doesn't look like they've even recognized that there is a problem.
5.3 has made the game unplayable for me too, I'm getting constant dx11 errors. Sometimes I can play for about two minutes before the game crashes, other times it's barely 10 seconds. Aaaah

Same as above. It seems to happen to me most when I'm teleporting from the first to the source and vice versa. And after that it takes me 3 or 4 attempts to actually get into the game after the loading screen.
Same situation as some other people, game running perfectly fine before 5.3, but now if I go to certain town, it will crash with dx11 error.
