    Add me to the list. I used to be able to run FFXIV just fine, but the crashes have become more and more frequent to the point of absurdity. Mostly mine are similar to the below error (not sure the exact letter/numbers I've gotten, but you get the idea).

    "An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.
    <current date and time>
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
    KERNEL32.DLL+xxxxx
    ntdll.dll+xxxxx

    I've also gotten Windows blue screens. Sometimes it's a kernal error and sometimes it references some Nvidia driver. I even got a page fault just for backing up my settings using the launcher's backup tool.

    Before anyone blames my setup, literally nothing else, game or other software crashes on my PC. FFXIV is the only thing I have issues with. I have tried removing and reinstalling Nvidia drivers including different versions. I have run sfc and ccleaner. I reboot every evening. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FFXIV.

    Whatever is causing these widespread instabilities should be the top priority. The absolute lowest common denominator level of service is providing a game that doesn't crash. All the wonderful content means little if it's trapped in a package that I can't access or randomly snaps shut the moment I try to enjoy it. This should be utterly humiliating to anyone involved in the production of this game. Even if you're not involved with QA, this makes your whole operation look bush league, and that's truly sad considering this is a Square Enix property. If this were Two Guys in a Garage Productions (apologies if that's actually a thing) I could understand, but I expect a heck of a lot more out of a division of SE.

    I was honestly considering buying this game again on PS4 just so I could play it, but doesn't that send the wrong message? Do I have to buy the game a second time at full price on an inferior platform just to enjoy what I'm already paying for? Would buying the game again help out the QA team? Do I need to go full whale in the Mog Station? What more do you guys want from me to do what you're already supposed to be doing? What hoops must be jumped through by me, the lowly consumer, to make something work that should just work? Please let me know.

    Same here. Nothing works. I've tried literally every fix people have mentioned. Under clocked GPU. Under clocked CPU. I have replaced hardware. Bios updates, driver updates, fresh install of windows. DX9, 11, Setting max fps, refresh rate. Just not worth it. Hoping the next update in a month might fix it.

    well anyway I used to play on PC (thank god I have it on PS4 too) until around Eureka Pagos when at that point the game woud get a fatal direct x error every 30 mins and crash. So Ive just been playin on PS4 ever since. I mentioned it in my FC and someone said just reinstall it... soo I just reinstalled it and now the game dosnt even make it to the title screen before the fatal direct X error happens lol

    I've been having these problems for a couple of years but especially badly in the last 2 months or so. I've tried so many different solutions and none of them work;
    -I've taken all my ram and gpu overclocks off and updated my BIOS.
    -I've re-installed pretty much everything (Game itself, drivers, windows updates etc).
    -I've used MSI afterburner to underclock my GPU.
    -I've done what the tech support people in these threads suggest (running in windows 7 compatibility, removing full screen enhancements, removing all overlays/ACT etc).
    -I've checked my RAM for any issues and made sure all my system temps are on the low end.
    Literally none of this works and it's super frustrating because every other game I play works flawlessly with 0 crashes. This is not a system issue, this is an FF14 issue.

    This thread has had nearly 17,000 views in 5 months and these threads constantly come up on Reddit so this must be affecting a huge portion of the player-base. I really think Square need to take this seriously and address it in some way. I mean just from my personal sample of the 30 or so people I play with 3 of them have quit the game completely over not being able to raid without crashes. They're not the kind of people who would post on a forum they just move onto the next game so I think forum threads like this underestimate how much of an issue something like this is.

    Although I sympathize with the tech support guys who are just doing their job this isn't an issue on our end, it is an issue that Square needs to fix. The very fact that everyone on every thread I've read say that their systems are working fine on other games shows this. It's pretty astounding that an issue that's most likely affecting 10's of thousands of people hasn't even been acknowledged by the developer.

    Has been going on for approximately two months now. If I stay within a zone, the game will continue functioning for five to thirty minutes before it crashes. If I attempt to teleport or enter a new zone, it automatically crashes on Loading Screen entry. I have not attempted any other activity simply because I have no idea if it will crash because of Combat or Cutscene, or if it will be just because of the game's execution. The only place I have not had a crash occur has been when I've been in the Crystarium Inn Room (the one accessed via The Pendants - current streak of no crashes is 3.5 hours, before I had to shut computer down for Windows updates). Each time the crash has occurred, some variant of the following has been displayed. On hitting 'Okay,' the game closes - but depending on where I am, sometimes I'll have that error on my screen and still be able to move around and interact with the world I'm loaded into.

    "An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.
    <current date and time>
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+1297DD7
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+12113C09
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+45359C
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+18D1C2
    ffxiv_dx11.exe+12DE419
    KERNEL32.DLL+17BD4
    ntdll.dll+6CE51"

    Sometimes it's swapped out KERNEL32 and ntdll.dll with a few extra ffxiv_dx11 strings, other times the ntdll.dll strings are the entire list of errors.
    I have attempted to fix this issue through the following:
    ++Uninstall & Reinstall the Game
    ++Uninstall, Delete All Documents Still On Computer, Reinstall
    ++Adjusted NVIDIA control panel, change game graphical settings to lowest possible at Title Screen
    ++Updated all drivers
    ++Disabled full screen optimization
    ++Defragged computer
    ++Uninstalled and Reinstalled DirectX11
    ++Attempted to run game on DX9
    ++Uninstalled, Reinstalled, and attempted DX9
    ++Ran as Administrator
    ++Turned Off Firewall
    ++Cleaned computer of all other applications, then attempted to run
    ++Gave up for two weeks, tried again later, hoped that it was a hiccup
    ++attempted to acquire a crash log to see which files were having the issue - no dice, apparently FFXIV has an internal system that crashes the game on detecting a problem. Verified this with another game as well, so I know I was doing the crash-log process correctly.
    ++gave up, went into BIOS settings, told the RAM to get the fuck over itself
    ++gave up again, used a recently factory-reset laptop on a lark. Noticeable difference: This attempt, the game ran fine for 2 hours... Then crashed with a variant of the above message.

    I'm this close to seeing if the machine spirits are real and trying to apply ritual ointments and binary prayers to the Omnissiah.
    UPDATE 1: Approximately three days ago (July 14th) I decided to do a full machine reset. Clean out everything, delete it all, and then reinstall to see what causes the problems.
    For about two days, this worked!
    ... Until today, when I attempted to teleport to Ul'dah at 11:28 AM MST.
    Same fucking crash occurred. And now I cannot even log in again, because every time I get past Character Selection and try to load in to Ul'dah? I crash with the same kind of error (although this time, no KERNEL32 or ntdll code strings).

    UPDATE 2: So today, between 1:30 and 1:35 PM (MST) I attempted to log in on two low-level alts. One of them was in Old Gridania, the other in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks. The first one was able to zone transition from Old Gridania, to New Gridania, to Central Shroud without any problems. The second went from Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks to Lower La Noscea with the same capability.
    The character that attempted to teleport to Ul'dah? Crashed on log-in attempt and loading screen.
    Ul'dah is fucking cursed.

    DX11 crashes

    I used to have this issue during ARR, and it was never fixed back then, i tried everything. Then i started playing a few weeks ago again, and i have a completely different computer. its all new. still happening in Shadowbringers update.... This was the reason i stopped playing way back then and while it isnt happening as often, as it used to, im still getting the errors probably 5-6 times a day. infuriating.

    I may have found a solution which may help some.
    I've had this same issue since Shadowbringers Launch, tried completely reinstalling windows, ffxiv, drivers etc (2nd post of this thread for details).

    I have now gone over a month without a crash so quietly confident its working now (though obviously I will crash now I've posted this).

    So on my most recent testing I done two things:
    1) Plugged PC directly into wall, no longer goes through an extension/surge protector
    2) I installed the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and dropped everything by 1, (ratio multiplier, turbo boost power max)

    I still fully believe this to be an issue with FFXIV however this has made FFXIV playable again for me (though I don't know enough about this stuff so no idea if having done this has broken anything else haha).

    I've tried the following:

    - Disabled Discord overlays
    - Uninstalled all XBOX Gamebar and other XBOX apps on my PC
    - Toggled the fullscreen optimizations option
    - Switched from fullscreen to borderless windowed
    - Shut down all other apps aside from FFXIV
    - Updated Windows and my NVIDIA drivers
    - Reinstalled the game

    I took each step individually, and still ended up having the DX11 crash sooner or later. Generally seemed to happen when I was mid-fight in a Duty, but sometimes just walking around town as well.

    Switched to DX9 as of tonight and no crashes as yet. Still, lame that we have to downgrade to an inferior DX in order to actually play the game. Meanwhile, my daughter has been playing just fine on her laptop using DX11 for months, so it must be tied to hardware in some fashion.

    I can play hole day with no prob. But then one moment Directx problems.
    https://ibb.co/cJjh6NG

    Tried to reinstall graphic drivers, rollback drivers, even directx reinstall.
    Squre Enix stop this stupidity already. For a long time there was and still is error 9000.., it's problem with your servers!!!
    Now problems with directx.. And no other game connections are ok, and no problem with Directx.
    We pay to play, we are not paying to deal with bugs on your end.

    Update: Even switching to DX9 isn't an acceptable solution. No more crashes, but frequent screen freezes and mobs going invisible.
