    I don't care what anyone says, you buy a game first because you like the way it looks. The gameplay just decides whether you keep said purchase. No one buys games for gameplay. If they say they are they are lying, because you dont know what the gameplay is until you play it yourself. You know what the graphics are by looking at screenshots and box covers.

    And I can count on one hand the # of ppl who would buy and play a game with crappy graphics. They'd play old ones, but not new ones. If FFXIV 2.0 came out looking like shit you wouldnt even buy it.

    Depends on the game really, I buy a Final Fantasy game because its Final Fantasy, case in point, FFXIII-2 looks great graphically, but after FFXIII I didn't want to buy it because to me XIII sucked in the gameplay department.

    So no I don't agree with that.

    Disgaea 3 looked like a PS2 game but I knew the gameplay would be awesome because of the other games in the franchise.

    DS games don't have awesome graphics and people bought them by the millions.

    I certainly didn't buy FFXIV because it looked great graphically or had fluid animation, I bought it because it was an online Final Fantasy.

    Besides my comment was more aimed at animation lock, if its in 2.0 I'll be quitting without a second thought.
