At least delete "currently" please. You had to pick the part with a redundant structure. -_-

I will not be disappointed, I only expect what OP suggested but with working features, more content and less lag.
Even if it's the same amount of content, same battle system, and same story, if they can fix the inventory menu, buying and selling, and the markets, I will be a happy, happy man.
Because when I play, I don't want to have to spend a good solid hour sorting out my junk.

I'll be happy with smoother menus and my actions firing off when I hit the skill.
The game is nice. The server lag isn't.
I better not be able to beat 2.0 in a week, or I will probably go on a homicidal killing spree. Gang wars, and shootings never start because of irl crap, it all stems off video game rage (remember when they nerfed CoP missions? that's why tupac had to pretend he was dead for so long)

If lag issues and animation lock are gone and the new maps and mobs are good then 2.0 launch will be off to a good start. If they add stats or materia to weapons to add double attack it would go a long way for combat seeming more interesting between tp moves. Because even in the early build some skills attacked twice or critical hit did. I think most will be pleased with what 2.0 will bring but there will no doubt still be those who simply say in the highly inaccurate phrase "the game sucks".

What i'm looking fwd to the most in 2.0 is the free companies and PVP. These 2 features can make this a different game on their own.
2.0 is an expansion, not a new game. 2.0 is primarily the PS3 version of the game. The PC version will use same graphics engine as it uses now. The PC version of the expansion isn't going to free. 2.0 will be the equivilent of the U.S. release of FFXI (which included Rise of the Zilhart since it was released at same time).
If it were a new game they wouldn't be patching the existing FFXIV.

-2.0 is a new client altogether. in other words we would have to uninstall the current FFXIV to make way for the 2.0's Version of FFXIV
-Maps are going to be extremely different because of Dalamud
-Look at the PDF's and see for yourself that alot of things will be different.. the only things that are going to be the same are the names of the cities, maybe more even.
As far as story is concerned, its def. going to be a different ride then our current story. Once Dalamud Crashes into Eorzea.. Is the story going to be the same?
Also anything in 1.xx won't be made playable Post 2.0.. that to me says its a new game ( at least in my eyes)

I'm sorry but you got it all wrong. 2.0 is no expansion. It is a remake of XIV. New Graphic engine, Yes that includes PC. New server, maps redone from scratch and much more. There is a thread in here with all the 2.0 info we got. They are porting the code from the current engine to the new one, so while some things are being re-done from scratch, some will be built on the existing code. The battle system for one should be pretty much the same but with some tweaks and new features.2.0 is an expansion, not a new game. 2.0 is primarily the PS3 version of the game. It is free for anyone who has XIV currently. Won't be free for PS3 owners or new PC players.
S-E hasn't announced any expansion for XIV yet, they are still trying to fix the game. It was way too broken when Yoshi-P picked it up and so they decided that it needed to be redone and not just patched up. This is what 2.0 is. While this is a remake, they will be re-using a lot of material from the current game so that is why you should not expect a brand new game. It will look pretty much the same but with a lot of things fixed and new features + content. All things that should have been there at launch.
