    FFXIV 2.0 impression

How would you feel if they show XIV 2.0 at E3, trailer + playable demo and all. Then what you see is the exact same game we have now, plays the same, feels the same.... but with new redesigned areas, new features, new spells+spell animations and dungeons+raid. But the gameplay itself feels 100% the same and would look only like you stumbled into a new area but not a new redesigned game. The game would also have no more lag.

Would that be enough to please you or would that be a huge disappointment?

What are you expecting 2.0 to be? Just a an improved, patched up XIV or a completely different experience?

I'm happy with the majority of the game play. It's the lack of content and lag issues that are my only issue. So yes, give me better designed areas, spell animations, content and fix the server issues and I would be happy.

i wouldn't be disappointed because right now and coming patch 1.22 and 1.23 is exactly what we will have in 2.0, maybe slightly better and more smoother with the new client.

What did you expect it to be OP?

If the lag is fixed and the new area designs feature a world that is actually memorable to live in,
that alone would be enough for me. Looks like we're getting much more though.

I'm also expecting it to be like a big patch, but reading some people's comment it seems some are expecting FF XV when 2.0 comes out. I think that these people will be very disappointed.

the only thing i expect is a reworked netcode, Improved Wards or AH implementation and a redesign of maps.

i only hope the new client doesn't make this game feel Cartoony..For some reason or another i get massive headaches with games like AION, Age of Reckoning, LoZ:WW or any other game that uses a cellshader overlay to make shadows and other "enhancements"

Thats pretty much what I expect... new areas... no serious lag problems...

Lag affects the game so much that removing it would indeed be new gameplay.. in a way...

The level of graphics is great the way it is (Although I'd like to see more lighting FX, mainly darker areas all around)

And the battle system is pretty much done... They will add Battle reg back in... hopefully give some big special FX for combining abilities in BR... but other than that... its not the gameplay or game thats bad

At this point its the server structure/lag and lack of content that would kill it
And they obviously can't show all the content at E3

Honestly it will even be hard to see lag in a demo... We will be relying on any sites that get to go hands on with it... but even then... We wont really know how the lag has been reduced until we actually play it at 2.0

So E3 is pretty much only to get a look at anything that might possibly be new.. maybe a new zone... maybe the new graphics engine looks a little different or handles lighting a little better... maybe a new MOB... a chocobo fighting with us...
Its sad because the only people who have reason to get excited by it is us... and maybe the review sites

I expect it to feel the same, but play differently. The things I expect are:

    - Less lag
    - New animations << I'm pretty sure this is confirmed.
    - Zones....confirmed
    - Better looking areas and areas with "life" to them
    - Much, much better UI...which is confirmed as long as it looks like the screenshot we got and works as intended.
    - Several new bosses and a few more dungeons.
    - Two new classes with jobs (since they've been mentioned several times. It will probably be beastmaster and a mage)
    - New job quests
    - New grand company quests
    - More voice acting. I really want ambient voice acting (NPCs talking in the background, groaning, cheering, chattering, etc).

Lol...I have all but 2 classes at level 50 (non-crafting/gathering), but I think once 2.0 gets released, I'll just go to a new server, start a new character, and delete the one that I currently have. It would be nice to start fresh.

You think they'll want to show as much of this as possible at E3 or wilkl they want to preserve some sense of mystery?
Is it even possible to show all of this at E3?

I wouldn't be disappointed with that, as long as they sorted the lag and animation lock I think the battle system is pretty solid.

Graphics engine and UI is the main things I'm looking forward to in 2.0 so as long as they are good along with new zone maps I would be happy with that.

If you expect the game to be completely different then you are probably headed for disappointment.
