Impossible to create a new character on Famfrit?

Hi all,

I've met some people irl that play in Famfrit and I wanted to create a character there so I could hang out with them a bit.

But it's been FULL. Non-stop. For like... 3-4 days in a row?

I'm on till 1am, get up at 8am for work from home. Constantly checking the status. Full. Always full. I've seen it not-full exactly ONE time, and it was the one-second period between 9:59 and 10pm PDT last night when the forced maintenance was on. Not enough time to create a character.

Is there like... a bot factory there or something? I can understand mostly-full because it's currently preferred, but literally every minute of the day that I'm awake, it's full.

The heck do I do about this? Is there no other way but to wait until it becomes non-preferred or something? I want to stress that *other preferred worlds in other data centers are NOT full 24/7. It is only Famfrit*

Game population has increased with the closing of schools and the quarantine. Many US states are reopening mid May which should see a corresponding drop in the FFXIV player base.
