Missing Characters?

I am trying to purchase 2 optional items for one of my characters, but he is not showing up on my character list on the purchase window. What can I do to fix this issue?

Check your subscription in the Mogstation as it will list all the characters available on that account, and if they are active or suspended.

Connected to that, did you change to an 'entry' subscription rather than a standard one, as entry subs only allow one character on a server, and any extra characters after the first that you have if you switch to this cheaper sub are then suspended. In this situation all you can do is change back to the standard one and then reactivate the suspended characters.

Are they new characters? It can take a day or so for them to show up.

Hijacking the topic since I was wondering about that... how does it determine which character stays active? First/last character you created? Last one you accessed before downgrading? First one accessed after downgrading?

It will be the top character within your character list when you get to where you select your character.
