    Constant Disconnects (Error 90002)

    Hello,

    Since yesterday night I've been experiencing massive freezes (> 30seconds) and subsequent disconnects.

    Today was even worse.

    I had over 7 or 8 kicks in the span of just one hour. I wouldn't last more than 5 to 10 minutes logged on.

    What I've done:
    • Restarted my computer;
    • Flush my DNS cache;
    • Following the procedure for Internet Explorer I've seen here in other tickets.

    All resulted in no change in behaviour.

    I'm mainly starting this ticket so it draws more attention to the problem from Square.

    Seeing we're paying a monthly subscription and the game, as it is, is unplayable I'd like to hear/see somewhat of a hasty fix towards this problem or I'll be ultimately forced to quit it.

    Looking forward to hear from Tech Support.

    Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

    Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - Please RESTART your PC. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    -Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    -Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

    Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Good luck.

    I've had this issue for over a month. Provided concrete data it is an FFXIV server/game issue with the below summarized information, and they keep telling me it is my PC or a network issue. Zero accountability.

    1.) I have sent proof that the FFXIV SERVERS are dropping packets using tracert and WinMTR, and no nodes in-between are dropping

    2.) I have sent proof it is not a network routing or a PC issue with network diagnostics, and by trying all of your 'troubleshooting tips', in addition to uninstalling the game

    3.) My wife plays FFXIV with NO issues on her account, and she plays on the SAME computer, on the SAME network. So that is 100% proof it is a FFXIV server/software issue, and not a PC/Network issue.

    4.) There are dozens of others on the FFXIV forums with this same issue, most of which FFXIV team has closed without resolution, as they did my ticket and other tickets so far. They close them stating it is our network, when we have proof it is them.

    THIS GAME IS CURRENTLY UNPLAYABLE, and has been for over a month now for me. The FFXIV support team has been completely worthless in helping with this issue, even though I send concrete proof.

    They dont care we are paying for this service, and we cant play. I've even asked them to escalate to a technical team multiple times, with no luck. Dozens of emails and support tickets, and zero help on their end. They just send this same 'troubleshooting tips' over and over and point the finger at us. Worst support ever.

    What DoomAngel said. I've had a post on this forum now for a couple of weeks, and after the initial copy/paste response, I haven't heard from anyone. There should be zero reason to be opening ports on my router, since I'm not the one running the server... No packet loss at this end, but still major disconnects from my wife's computer. My system plays fine.
