I know BelgianRofl from my server and he'll bitch about the same things in-game and I can vouch as a witness that not one single person who argued with him could answer any of his questions. Telling someone to go read their own threads instead of giving a direct link to something (which would probably be your own opinion anyway and not fact) is a poor way of proving a point.

In this case the answer is simple. There's no reason why a game developer creating a cutscene should feel compelled and limited by the abilities available to the players while storyboarding and directing that cutscene. The difference between cutscenes and gameplay is radical through the whole gaming field, and that's the whole reason behind the existance of cutscenes.

I read that paragraph about 10 times over and I did not understand one thing you just said. It's like you purposely threw jargon at me (that I happen to know fortunately) to try and make a point but it made absolutely no sense. But I'm not just going to be mean and give you the benefit of the doubt that you actually had something meaningful to say... in which case, could someone please translate this?

It's simple. Just because an ability is shown in a cutscene, doesn't mean a player has to have it too. You remember the elezen who summoned a fleet of ghost ships? Yeah, Thaumaturge should be able to do that too.

I'm afraid that's not my fault. The explanation was quite clear, and in fact others understood it with no problems.
