By knowing your skills and using them appropriately, devising your own plan of attack?
You don’t actually need a macro to craft. What you need is to know what skills you need to use to get the result you want (typically, 100% HQ from nothing). Also ... you don’t need to use a macro to follow it. In a sense, if you know what it takes to 100% a craft, and you do it by hand a bunch of times the exact same way each time, you are following a macro written into your muscle memory rather than into the game.
Can you provide me with a skill rotation? I just do not know the proper rotation for this and how to understand them well enough. I understand what you are saying and that fact but what is a skill rotation or plan of attack that you could provide me with in order to do this on most ocassions?
A macro is a rotation. If it's a point of pride for you not to be using a macro, then you shouldn't be asking for someone else to give you a rotation.
You're going to have a hard time reliably getting HQ on Neo-Ishgardian when you need food just to meet the minimum requirements to attempt the recipes.
Start with Reflect and Manipulation. From there it's up to you. Use Veneration to get greater progress with less durability loss. Innovation will give additional increase to quality but it's much more effective at high Inner Quiet stacks than low. If condition is Good/Excellent, don't use a Synthesis action (except Intensive Synthesis) when you could be using a Touch action. Don't use Groundwork or Preparatory Touch without Waste Not/Waste Not II active. A standard quality finisher is Innovation - (Touch) - (Touch) - Great Strides - Byregot's Blessing but you need to make sure you have enough Durability left for it plus your progress finisher.
There are practice recipes included in the Master 8 recipes and the practice recipe materials can be purchased from the Merchants in Eulmore and Firmament. Pick up a bunch so you can practice without wasting real materials.
If you change your mind about macros, Teamcraft is a safe and valuable online tool for testing rotations that will work with your specific stats.
I viewed macros as something you setup via some type of programming, a.k.a. something I didn't know how to do. (I know sounds stupid but not everyone is an expert in the game and its lingo) That's why I asked for a rotation of skills I could do by pushing the buttons myself not knowing that the act of pushing the buttons to preform certain actions in a set order, was considered a macro, as you just stated. Thank you for that rotation/macro.A macro is a rotation. If it's a point of pride for you not to be using a macro, then you shouldn't be asking for someone else to give you a rotation.

I had someone recently stalk me and tell me that they would send me macros via email. Maybe they were being nice but it seemed suspicious so I thought id ask here instead. I am just a novice player and a new lvl 80 crafter I am not fully acquainted/familiar with all the lingo of final fantasy.
Also my current stats for control and craftsmanship higher than the average recommended but being away from my PC I cant see the exact number. Ive added some melds and overmeld (by luck).
Thank you for that information and now that I know all this information, I will use the Teamcraft site to test these things out and use macros. It is very helpful and I am glad you replied Jojoya.

If your goal is to understand crafting, then you need to stay away from macros. The dev team has put a considerable amount of work to make the mechanics involved with crafting much easier to understand so that players would not have to rely on others for macros. When I say you need to stay away from macros, I do not mean to demonize them. Macros can be and are very useful for omni crafters, but if you simply copy and paste a macro that's been given to you, then it's not you who figured out how to HQ that recipe. If that's all you care about, stop reading my post now.I viewed macros as something you setup via some type of programming, a.k.a. something I didn't know how to do. It really sounds like that in order to help a player such as yourself, we would really have to start from square one and I am not sure if any content creator out there has put the time in to update guides according to the most recent patch. This is something I have considered doing, but ultimately feel like there are not enough 'freestyle' crafters out there for me to invest that kind of time.
If you truly want to learn how to craft, macros are something you come up with on your own, then you fine tune them according to other macros you look up in order to make yourself more efficient. However, if you want to be a self-sufficient artisan who does need to look up macros and reliably do things on your own then you have to put in the time to understand all the tools that have been given to you.
A freestyle crafter typically does not use macros at all, and all their actions are taken based on the current situation, and factoring in good/excellent procs instead of dismissing them. If you bring up "rotation" to them, they will likely scoff or laugh at the very notion of it.
So what kind of artisan are you aiming to be? Efficient or self-sufficient.
At this point I understand my crafting jobs well enough to HQ but I dont understand macros. Do you happen to know a good macro for Culinarian or will an HQ rotation in one crafting job translate over into another crafting job? Noob question but I actually don't know the answer haha.

If your classes are the same level, they will have the same skills. If their gear is the same strength, they will get the same progress and quality from synthesis and touch actions. If you can do something on one class, you can typically do it on another. The exception being classes you have the specialist stone for. Those classes get a small stat boost(20 craft, 20 control, 15 cp), and have one extra action they can use(careful observation) - also a very small number of recipes are locked to specialists only.
