    Issues with International Connection

Hello, I'm from Argentina and i'm noticing a pattern of people from my FC getting kicked or being extremly lag, and they all have diferent ISP

I usually play on 200ms and for the last week ive been getting freezes where ping goes up to 500ms

I tried a routing service to check if it was my internet problem and it seems it's not, it works fine, but the connection between the FF14 NA servers and at least (maybe other countries are experiencing it too) Argentina has worsened.

Is there a way you have to check the routing connection quality or fix this issue? I tried calling my ISP's support service and there isnt an issue with my internet

do a traceroute to the server/data centre you play on. most likely the culprit is a node along the way that's out of your control. you may need a vpn to avoid that connection.

I have the same problem, same county. Can you tell me how to do the traceroute? Thanks.

    I'm in Hyperion.

I actually did a traceroute with a vpn (Traced to Miami, 120ms) and still got frozen and kicked from the server

So it seems something is very fishy here, there are a lot of nodes working poorly if this is the case

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I did that and it still freezes before i get kicked from the server
I've seen a lot of people not only from South America getting this issue

I'm not saying is SE fault, but is there a way to check your international routes and see if theres congestion or an issue regarding them and a way to fix it?

I don't know how to do the traceroute to provide mine, but i have the exact same problem, here and other Threads says the same: 20/30s freeezes, kicked like 10 times in 1 hour.

This start happened yesterday or Sunday, can't remember exactly, before that had no problem with the game.

PS: Yesterday i was able to play without ANY problem at night (Argentina Time), but not in the morning or afternoon.

Thank you for the reply Awep.

The FFXIV server doesn't have network routes as it would rely on an ISP's network to connect the player to the game. That being said, we wouldn't be able to check for congestion or other issues since it would be outside the scope of the server itself. You mentioned using a VPN. Did you experience the same issues while connecting to the game with this VPN?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
