    Crossfire enabled in windowed mode?

    Hello,
Iam using HD 6990 and i really would like to have crossfire enabled in windowed mode.
Am not a fullscreen fan, nor wana let my graphic card put all stress on a single GPU, so is there any solution for this? or did SE even mention anything about it in the near future?
    Thanks in advance.

That is not up to SE but AMD, as it is a driver "issue".

Currently the only way to take advantage of crossfirex is to run in fullscreen mode (for any game).

Not AMD but Microsoft as DirectX9 doesn't allow windowed multi-GPU like Crossfire or SLI (possible in DX10 or DX11), so in the end maybe that's up to SE (to use DX10/11 API for its 2.0)

    Nope.
Had GTX460 SLI setup last year, worked fine in windowed mode.
Both GPUs underutilized at the same percentage. /laugh

    Definitely AMD's problem.

Surprising, i tested that last year on two 9800gtx and it didn't work with windowed mode, anyway the scaling is so poor, negative sometimes, in full screen it's not worth activating it for FFXIV.
But DX9 windowed mode is definitely not supported by AMD, it has to be DX10/11.

Umm, so who's issue would it be? and would RadeonPro help at all solving this issue untill 2.0 is released? i honestly tried using it once or twice but didn't actually manage to know what's going on so i didn't want to mess anything up and haven't used it again :\

Radeonpro won't activate Crossfire in windowed mode.

This is an issue from all 3 places for all 3 companies(and also in some part nVidia).
SE: Fix lost device context in fullscreen, like every other game on the market for the last 5 years, this fixes it 100%
Microsoft: Update DX9(not gonna happen) to support Crossfire/SLI in windowed modes
AMD/nVidia(how nVidia kinda makes it work): Implement a driver hack(err patch) to split the difference at all times, this leads to sorely underutilized graphics if frame limiting/vertical syncing is turned on.

In fullscreen mode, running on 2 screens so I can see hardware info, I've tested a few different Crossfire rendering modes, and my cards never sit @100% like you'd expect. That makes me happy and sad, they aren't getting too hot, they aren't being pushed to show me how good this could look.
