So, for awhile now I've been thinking about the Conquest system for XI. How neat of a little concept it was, and how well it fit in to the gameplay. Then I started thinking about the Grand Companies, and how Conquest could be tied into gameplay with them. So, here's a rough idea of what I ended up thinking.

With 2.0, we know we'll be getting multiple small zones, like we had in XI. This would open the door for a Conquest system to be implemented. Players would be able to obtain a "signet" from an NPC in their Grand Company's HQ, which could grant minor buffs, such as a weak regen or refresh. They would also allow for players to accumulate Conquest Points for their respective company in the region by killing enemies and earning EXP.

Zone controlled would be tallied weekly, and the company with the highest amount of conquest points for a region would be awarded control of said region. NPCs with wares from that region could offer small discounts in the respective company's city, or an NPC could offer teleports to a major hub or camp in that region from the company's respective city in exchange for gil (as opposed to spending anima to teleport there). Crystal drop rates off enemies could be increased ever so slightly. Things like that.

Would give players a reason to get out there and party. Give companies a much needed sense of competition.

Just a thought. Figured I might as well throw it out there, who knows?
