    There have been dozens of people answering that they have updated drivers and firmware on everything, more-than-capable specs on their PC/laptop, and do NOT overclock (and have reasonable temperatures). You can check all throughout this forum, skim through the pages. Discounting them as an equivalent of "my internet is fine, it must be the servers every time people get lag" is just giving an SE the excuse to not look at something that is actually, seriously an issue for the large amount of us that have tried every fix they, themselves, have given us and those that have waited for weeks for an answer.

    Crashes with no errors

    I have a problem where the game would randomly crash to the desktop with no errors. there times when i can play for hours and other times its crashes with in a min or 10. once login to my character.

    It is annoying when people come in and tell us what to do, like we haven't already been doing it. This thread, especially, is predicated on comprehensive research spanning the tech support forum. You think we didn't check temperatures? You think we're ALL overclocking? Help, but don't tell us we are doing it wrong. That's Squaresoft's job. Stop roleplaying as dejected tech support mods.

    I've done most of the suggested fixes. it got so bad, the game crashed 8 times in the same day (4 of those were within 5-10 minutes). Swapping to the unsupported DX 9 stopped the crashing. I attempted a fix a saw only went about it a bit differently. I had saw a post about plugging in a lower refresh monitor while launching launcher and game and then unplugging once game was launched to "trick" the refresh rate check in the game, instead of doing that i just restricted my monitor to 60 FPS in the display settings. FF14 was stable for two days before I experienced a crash. Of course now the crashes are back.

    In the thread where everyone has gathered to try to help each other out with this issue, Zhexos said, "In order for our support team to better assist with each case, we’d like to ask users who are experiencing issues to create their own thread while adhering to the support template."

    That is understandable, but we do that, and then they never actually finish helping us. Why shift the blame back onto us? We are not being angry. We are not talking ugly. We are just banding together, in search of solutions to this problem, because the support team - despite saying they help us - is not actually helping us.

    Unfortunately, I received an email yesterday stating that I had three days left on my subscription. Despite creating this thread, and babysitting it all this time, the problem still is not fixed. I was left with no choice but to cancel my subscription.

    Yeah, this whole thing is a joke. Five crashes with no visible errors and no crash logs in the last 30min today alone. How am I supposed to fix a problem without crash logs so I know what the error was?

    I was willing to do whatever it takes to get Final Fantasy up and running again. It took all my patience, three pages of writing, more than a month of waiting, and that still wasn't good enough. Final Fantasy XIV simply will not stop crashing (for me, and others).

    As frustrating as it is, I have to respect Square's approach to customer service. They've never been all that friendly, their networks of similar-but-different websites have a fair bit of question marks hanging over them, and they certainly haven't gone out of their way to help me with this technical problem here on the forums, either. Yes it is annoying, but I genuinely respect that, because that is how I run my businesses, too. I do not give in to whiny, irritating customers, and if business doesn't come easily, then so be it. I let them go. Granted, I usually do that before accepting their money - but hey - I did not resubscribe, so I guess that's just all there is to it. Sorry it didn't work out. I'll continue to monitor this thread, the other thread, and the tech support forum in general. I am honestly fascinated by the high-profile neglect taking place here, and I will be interested to see what comes of it. I love when the moderators just keep writing the same things, and asking people for full system reports that are never referenced again.

    I still have all the same crashes, too. I've tried just about everything. The only thing I've noticed alll the threads about this have in common is that they're clustered around the release of 5.25. I'm thinking it won't relent until the next 5.2x.

    just crash after crash.

    I want to pay SE to play, I'm a big fan, I've paid for SIX copies of FF7 so far, FF6 soundtrack on import CDs, last month played 3,4, and started 5 again... but I'm not gonna pay for a game that doesn't work.

    I think you could be right, Jyera.

    Can someone from Square's development team confirm whether this will be fixed in an upcoming patch? I understand if they aren't working on it now, but maybe someone can help us know what to expect.
