Have you disabled all Overlays, Steam, Discord, etc? Did you turn xbox game bar off, and also turn game mode off?
Do you have anything like OBS/Xsplit/etc running?

I have been steadily searching for a solution for weeks now, as I attempt to isolate the variable causing Final Fantasy to crash, so I would not run OBS from a system I am attempting to troubleshoot. I am not even using alt+tab right now. Besides whatever background processes run on a clean installation of Windows 10 - minus game bar which I have disabled - Final Fantasy is the ONLY program running.
As stated in my opening post, I do not use discord or overlays. Disabling the Xbox game bar is one of the first things I do on a new Windows installation, so that's off, too. I do not run OBS or any other software in the background; however, I am considering doing a few desktop recordings to demonstrate the random, unpredictable manner in which my game crashes.
I just wanted to chime in that I'm also experiencing this issue. No error messages whatsoever, just a really abrupt crash to desktop.
Just wanted to add my voice to all of the others experiencing this problem.
Problem started with the 5.25 patch. I had been playing without incident for the weeks leading up to the patch. Now, it is a daily issue. Sometimes the game crashes the moment I try to log into my character.
So far the only two instances I've noticed my game does not crash is on start up, before attempting to log into a character, or if I'm in my inn room. I crash regularly if I'm in any hub, and have crashed on one occasion shortly after entering an instanced trial.
Crashing is not consistent either. Some days I log in without any problems. Others, I only need to restart once. Still others I will spend 40 minutes relogging and running to the safety of my Inn Room where I don't have to fear crashes. Some days I can go nearly an hour without any crashes, only to suddenly crash out of the blue.
I have tried nearly all of the solutions suggested in the many threads already created with no success. The solutions I have not tried seem extreme and have not worked for others, so I don't intend to try them.
Have you tried bios updates? Old ryzen hardware is finicky
This is happening to people with all kinds of PCUs and GPUs. I have an i7-9700k and a 1060 6gb GPU, still the same issue. This unfortunately isn't a client-side issue and there is no known definitive fix at this time (only copy-paste answers that I'm sure the mods have no choice in having to give). This is something deeper that SE needs to take a look at with all the reports that have generated this week alone.
You may think that, but considering it's not impacting everyone, it must be a conflict in either hardware or software on the affected systems. This is happening to people with all kinds of PCUs and GPUs. Hence the suggestion. Also, rolling back graphics drivers to an older version sometimes helps, as Nvidia and amd break things all the time.
I'm sorry, but that's not even a little true. Nothing has to impact EVERYONE to be an issue on a dev/prod side. Regardless, if it's an issue of conflict, the conflict is with FFXIV - as no other reported issues with other games or systems have come to light to every person that's been asked or has volunteered the information. Only FFXIV.
Programs stress hardware differently. That's why validation occurs for people who overclock on more than one piece of software. This is likely a similar issue.I'm sorry, but that's not even a little true. Nothing has to impact EVERYONE to be an issue on a dev/prod side. This is the equivalent of "my internet is fine, it must be the servers" every time people get lag.
