This game needs way more wards!

That has been hinted as coming in the future with a minion farm even if not attached directly to housing.

A minion farm doesn't sound anything at all like gardening though.

I know when "player run farms" were mentioned back at the FanFests, a lot of players assumed that meant gardening. Everything I've seen SE mention about them since has them tied to minions with no mention of gardening. I definitely would not pin any hopes on it.

I'm fairly certain the dev could make apartments better if the community would make actual post about it, but they would rather make 600 post about needing more wards and not being about to own the mansion on the hill. Apartments are instance housing, tell SE how to fix them ><

Are you kinding? People were expecting apartments to be some kind of instancied houses with different size and we only had some kind of FC room. Some people have asked they upgrade apartments. But the reply for Y-P was : we want to keep neighborood. He closed the door to this possibility.

The housing is broken. There's unfortunatly nothing new.

Many people don't give a f*** about neighborood but they keep this system as if neighborood were the Alpha and the Omega.

The neighborood is broken since individuals can get a house, it makes ghosts towns but never mind, they prioritize wards with broken neighborood. sigh...

They could upgrade flats, offer several size, a greenhouse but no... always wards...
With a centrale aetheryte they could propose instancied housing with gardens and simulated neighborood but... we don't see anything of this kind.

I have no illusions about Ishgard.

Page 2 of this thread. You know not all people are stuck to the forum, you need to watch at least to the page 3 to be sure nobody suggested this idea. I always do in this kind of thread and I'm not the only one to do.

Good point but a lot of people do talk about upgrading apartments. If someone tried to create a new tread on apartments right now while this one is still hot there would be whole chorus of people telling them there is already an active topic on housing.

I would be all for a larger 2 story apartment with a large balcony. Personally I think we should be allowed an apartment in each housing district. Maybe just one could be the larger type.

The director mentioned back when the additional wards were added for Shirogane for 4.2 that they were considering upgradeable apartments that would be small, medium and large. Problem is they haven't said anything since to my knowledge.

I'd bet this feature would do wonders to alleviate the housing shortage.

People have posted about it. The dev team is notoriously slow about implementing features. Case in point, people asked for years about marker placement tools. It took a third party program to actually get them to implement their own variation of it.

I mean you say that but before I necro posted a thread the Housing forums had 7 complaint threads about housing plot and zero about apartment improvements.

They're usually in the same thread. Like somebody else mentioned, there's literally a post on page 2 here talking about apartments. It's an oft posted solution to there just not being enough housing. I vaguely remember one thread where we spent like three pages straight debating the value of gardening and why current apartments are insufficient as a solution - usually because someone tends to come into a complaint thread about lack of housing and say "we have instanced housing, it's apartments!"

No. We don't. Not without some massive improvements to them. Otherwise it's an FC room without an FC, and I use mine basically for storage and nothing else right now.

I have quick question, if someone owns an apartment and want do relocate to another world, does this apartment also needs to be demolished first? And what you do if you don't have enough inventory for all your old housing stuff (maybe more than just the things from the appartment), you can't sell it an the MB once used and when you sell it just to an NPC its nearly worth nothing, even if it's worth a lot at the MB.

Yes it has to be and yes it's a problem if you don't have room for all that stuff. Housing/apartments require a lot of slots and relocating can be a problem. I've thought about it for some of my characters and the slots needed for the items is overwhelming given my retainers are mostly full atm.

What I had to do when I server transferred was basically purge my retainers' inventories to make room. Got rid of glamours I was on the fence about, stuff I hadn't used in a while, old raid tokens, etc etc. I also sold every piece of furniture I knew I could just buy from a vendor again - wall maps, certain partitions, etc, anything that was easy and cheap to replace. Everything else filled my own inventory almost completely iirc. I think I even took glam off my retainers to completely fill my armory chest lol

That wasn't just an apartment's worth of furniture, but if you don't have space those are options.

I've handled this a couple of different ways. When I was changing servers, I had a big housing item sale. Things are bound, but you can still sell them to people by either adding or being added as a tenant via the tenant option, or have them add you to their FC so you can drop things into their house. Bit of trust involved with this one, but it's doable.

I have also purchased an extra retainer before just to hold everything when I was just looking to store things.
