    This is pretty much the ongoing theme for most beast tribe summoned primals, as the strength of the primal is contingent on the amount of crystals and prayer made towards its summoning. Shiva is a bit different though. With not only her summoning coming by way of using a living vessel to harness her power, but also leaving it to a battle of will power between the owner of the vessel and Shiva herself to see who reigns. There have been multiple means outside 'conventional' in primal summoning, so what is important is that they give reason to why and how it has happened.

    I also get the impression that putting down a beast tribe summoned primal is now a mundane task for the WoL (I know what you're thinking with all the fetch quests. just let that go for a sec). What I mean though is that the Allied Forces knows that the WoL is attending to greater threats, and other fighters and Scions with the power of the echo are available to fend them off. If the WoL is specifically needed to take down a primal on the Source; it means that this primal is beyond anyone's ability to dispatch it. It will be interesting to see why these primals are even worth the WoL's time.

Other times when they bring in guests like Matsuno or the Yorha guy they work hard on the lore. The game could really use more world dynamic content, specially if it's limited time.     They may add lore to it, the unreal trials may be part of an overall story line. It isn't in the game yet, think it may be a bit to early to just go oh they should have done this with it or they shouldn't have done this with it, when it hasn't even be released yet and we don't have all the information yet. Having said that, I do agree with you that I do hope we have some lore with it, and that we also could use some more world content, I also like your idea of a Seasonal primal summoning.

    How many of Shiva EX mechanics made it into E8S? From what I saw, not many.
    Basically everything but Ice Brand, which gets a tankswap mechanic and "everyone stand in front of her" instead.

    You have the updated versions of "dont stand in the circle of bad", "stand behind her", "heres a tankbuster", "the floor is frozen" (combined with "dont stand in the bad"), "kill the rocks", "watch her ponce about whilst frozen", "gimme a hug", "DONT GET KNOCKED BACK TOO FAR LOLOL" and "cold damage to errybody".



    Really not looking forward to the timing of limited-time trials. Its going to be a pretty hectic month for a lot of people. Especially since theres no reason to make them limited.


    Mentor roulette
    mentor roulette giving an EX trial is almost always a signal that I'm going to be wasting 60 minutes of my life talking at a wall.

    But do we really need such a excuse to try to not waste an increasingly large portion of our content? Upward scaling is just objectively a good thing for content diversity, especially if you can later attach it to reward systems like the Relic weapon in order to focus people towards particular ones at a time (rather than there being so many choices that the queue/formation times for each are badly increased).

    Mentor Roulette doesn't exist to carry people who can't learn to follow basic instructions.

    After 2 wipes with zero improvement I'm leaving.

    I'll stick around as long as the group is improving but if they are not, I'm not wasting my time.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Limit time deal prolly has more to do with future aspects in mind, so rather than having the fights more or less set in stone like normal and ex's, they can rotate them out and make changes to them but more importantly increase the difficulty once next expac comes around. So like next expac comes around they can easily bump up the difficult for level 90 or w/e and tweak the mechanics.

    I wonder if that really requires that much tweaking though. The more precise control they want over the difficulty, the more tweaks will have to be made, but do they need to account for every single skill outside of Ultimate? When we get new levels/abilities they mostly increase DPS, HPS, or some other metric that's pretty easy to scale. With CC being non existent the trickiest one I can think of is shielding (ie max damage capacity).

    I'm glad to see more high level content, but I think it was a mistake to make these limited events. If they felt that it would too difficult to tweak them perfectly to keep pace with the evolution of the game I think I'd rather have a slightly less than perfect fight that would remain relevant/interesting for a long time. In that case they could also spend the time it takes to make new limited content tweaking the existing ones as well, so it doesn't seem like there is much of a time/resource loss. Going back to Stormblood content unsynced doesn't really change anything except that enemies die too fast/don't do enough damage.

    I definitely believe it's a good thing that these are limited and on rotation since it wouldn't split the playerbase any more (party finder) and also make them feel more special. The original one is always there anyways.

    For this expansion tier i pretend Eden story never happend. I mean the shape «we» created looks cooler than original and hence i dont believe why SE made that direction for this raid series.
