Free or Payed MMORPG, What would you preffer on FXIV?

what do you think about this?, I preffer put some money monthly to play it instead of pay for items, or whatever... I hate the idea "I have more money than you, I can be better than you in this game, I bought this item! -.-"
My intention is hear some opinions only and hear how do you think about this =)

(Please forgive me, I dont talk english)

I'd pay monthly. I wouldn't p;ay a game with microtransactions purchasing like items etc. If any FF MMO I was playing changed to that regime, I would stop playing.

Monthly Fee, if the game has enough to make it worth it.

I did my microtransaction time and then some when I played Imperian. I'll never walk that path again.

15 bucks a month flat over the urge to spend up to 150 bucks a month... yeah no thanks.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

People think f2p means you never have to pay

in truth, to play the full game in f2p games...you end up paying 2-3 times that of a p2p game anyway

    so id rather be p2p

For SE, a cash-shop solution would probably be better, as the examples of DDO and LOTRO have shown. There's little hope XIV will be able to compete with the MMO top dogs, and for niche titles, the free-to-play/cash shop model is just more attractive. It will be up to SE to balance it so you can't simply "pay more to be better", but there are feasible solutions for this.
The hardest thing to overcome will be the stigma of cash shop games. This very thread here is a good example of that.
The Crysta system is already in place, so it seems they anticipated that option. Wouldn't even be that much of a change on their back-end.

    Monthly subs.

Cash-shop MMOs try to sap more money out of you, and overall they cheapen the experience. Even when it's just fluff stuff, I've yet to see a micro-transaction-based game that I actually like (and that includes LotRO, which I had originally subbed to on and off before it went f2p).

I can see why it may appeal to some, but it's just not something I'll ever be interested in.
