They should create the channel, but by all means give people like yourself the option of muting it at will.

What is wrong with socializing LOL. I have met life long friends in MMO's.

Because a server wide chat wouldn't be socializing. It would be chaos. Even ignoring an endless stream of bots spamming advertisements, the shitposting would basically be non-stop unless they hired a moderator for it. There would likely rarely if ever be any meaningful conversation of any kind.

We have lots of channels in game that people can chat in. Just ask someone to invite you to a linkshell whose purpose is something you want to chat about, or create your own.

I have seen that type of channel in many games like this and they do fine. Sure there are you share of idiots that will ruin it but thats what mute is for
