Market board logic - how to loose 100k in 8 hours

That's a wrong way to use market board. Keep you price fixed at least 24h, if it sells too fast, it is the price is too low. If it takes more than three days, it is probably too high. It is the kind of balance I'm using and it doesn't work too bad. And there are few others factors but I will not reveal all my tricks

Part of what selling is about. It requires lots of time to maintain low price and sell consistently. Some will kill markets it's just part of the game. I always try to maintain low price and it worked pretty well for me but I have lots of time to price check.

I wish the Market Board was like the Auction House in FFXI, all you can see is how much the last purchase cost, you guess from there and then you BID on that item. so it's like guessing how much you want to buy an item for. better than xiv mb

Wasnt undercut proof, but that market was a real beast.

How do you know that it would have sold ? Maybe the buyer did think that 50k was a good price he can afford, but not at 150k. Selling more quantity for little prices can earn you the same as selling less units but at higher prices. Like there is tons of costumers irl in discount shops, while in comparison there is barely anyone to be seen in luxury shops with insane prices. Do you really think there is no money to be made with the former, and that the latter is the only viable option ?

Also not everybody have 8 or 9 retainers. If the two you have are already full, and that you know that tomorrow you will get even more items to sell, you can not afford to wait three days for the old items to be gone, playing the 1-10 gil undercutting war every 3 minutes with other players, just for the sake of not undercutting by a huge amount. While the mogstation is very far from the worst p2w games i have seen, additionnal retainers doesn't make us all equals, and can heavily influence how you are using the market board.

Theres an item i want to buy(a mini - so its something i want but do not need). I check the price regularly. Last i looked there were 30 of them for sale on my server, with 2 people playing the 1 gil undercut game. None have sold in 3 weeks because the prices are 100-150k more then anyone will pay(based on sales history). Sometimes smaller cuts are pointless and you need to make an actual move to get the money.

Neo Ishguardian stuff is so worthless now I doubt a lot of sellers really care. Crafting is so easy you can just churn out 20 pieces in under half an hour nowadays. Big undercuts on one item are generally when you want to just clear something so it doesn't clutter your bag. A lot of sellers are old crafters sitting on 100m+ and 100k loss on a worthless item is just nothing to them, there's nothing to do with gil anyway.

Too much supply, not enough demand.

Try to sell something ppl might buy but it's not overloaded with sales. Like Popular furniture or old gear or glamour items. I see a lot of ppl crafting the high end lvl 80 crafts and then put it up for cheap. Meanwhile you can make more gil crafting lvl 70 and below items and it only takes 2 crafting actions to HQ and complete most crafts at that level .
