    The original 1.0 opening also showcased some of the original base classes (because Jobs did not exist back then at the game's original launch), as well as subtlely referencing the now scrapped old 'cross-class' ability system (where a class's abilities could be equipped once learned on any other class);

    GLA (x2, one with Esuna cross-classed)
    ARC (using Enfire, a spell/ability that was dummied out of the final game!)
    THM (using Protect cross-classed, as well as Blizzard which was actually a CNJ spell back then!)
    MRD

    As for what Job our old friend/alter ego Derplander will be in the next expansion trailer/opening, my guess he would at least start as DRK, as he represents the player's character and the WoL in the ShB story did take on the alias of 'Warrior of Darkness' in the First, so he will probably be still looking edgy and weary in the next one too.

    I would love to see ast in cgi in action with the weapon spinning and throwing cards, not just Urianger holding up a couple cards. I think seeing the jobs in cgi in action is some of the most exciting non-story things we see in trailers.

    But I think if we do get a DoM WoL in a trailer it would be smn or rdm since those are the most mobile. However, the team seems to be magic shy when it comes to trailers for the most part. Likely because its less visually interesting than someone running, jumping and slashing combine with explosions rather than just - holds up staff > things go boom

    It just occurred when Derplander did all his job changes he never turned into a DoM

    ARC->WAR->DRG->MNK->SAM->DRK

    The only ones he hasn’t used are NIN and PLD

    I’m absolutely down for a RDM rework. Purely because I think the job is boring as balls. Agree to disagree don’t @ me

    Considering whenever the story has been advanced on the Source, it has been mostly through acts of espionage by two tallboys, I can see Ninja being the next CGI job for Derplander.

    I can't really see SCH ever taking the main stage personally. It's animations just aren't that flashy from a movement perspective and unless they pull hard into the status affect side of our attacks, it might be hard to actually convey in a proper way that feels exciting and that will drum up interest in the next expansion. Kiiiiiinda the same issue with AST, though at least the magic would look pretty. I could easily see WHM working though, as it has the flashy movement and attacks to make for interesting fight choreography.

    I think if they used the ability to swap classes on the fly like they did in the Shb trailer and fudge the abilities like they normally do, like how DRG can't jump several times while already in the air but it sure looks cool, we could see DoM in a trailer and it would look good.

    Our allies on the ground from a super colossus, WoL walks up as a WHM heals them all, the colossus rushes us and swings its massive sword, we hot swap to SCH, block it's attack with a barrier as we're sent flying and bounce off the ground, Eos heals us as we get up, only for the colossus to send a huge energy wave from it's sword at us, swap to AST, block it with a huge barrier and we're covered in smoke. Suddenly the colossus is hit by several FireV's and a flare revealing we swapped to BLM in the smoke, damaged it launches missiles at us and we quickly swap to RDM dodging them before quickly casting jolt, dodging more missiles and then dropping an instant verholy taking out one of it's arms before leaping onto it's head and stabbing it in the eye, before it can grab us we kick flip off of it high into the air, swapping to SMN and summoning Demi-Bahamut who's shoulder we land on as it mega-flares and finally finishes the coloussus off.

    Something like that would still give the motion and speed they seem to like in the trailers while letting the DoM classes take the stage.

    Thanks, obviously everything can be bigger, better and faster in the trailers so really DoM's can be just as flashy and fast of DoW, so I see no reason they couldn't be in the trailers.
    Guess time will tell if they really are adverse to using them, or it's simply been about where we're going in each instance as from that standpoint it makes sense why they've used the jobs they have.
    I get the feeling it's the latter though, as DoM's got some showing in the 1.0 trailer and it looked fine, time will tell though.

    My big curiosity is whether or not we are going to get more than 1 job. Yoshida already said they don't want to add any more, but they have to because its what is expected with a new expansion, so I could see them going down to just 1 job. But if that is a healer, how are they going to incorporate that into the trailer? Unless they just use a non-WoL npc like they did with both dnc and gnb.

    WoL gets struck down after a big battle, new healer appears, throws up a shield followed by some offensive magic or a rather explosive potion (if it would be chemist) at whatever is attacking him to chase it away. WoL wakes up to find the Healer communing with nature (geo) or mixing some concoctions (chm) and we are introduced to a new npc. That would be the easiest way to do it and still be pretty epic.
