    [Elemental -> Tonberry] Packet loss and ping spike (traceroute attached)

    Hi,

    Been experiencing severe lag and disconnects in Tonberry since last night (17 Apr 2020).

    Please see hop 14. An average of around 120 - 150ms ping is expected from my location (Singapore) to Japan.

    However, ping starts to spike from hop 14 onwards, together with packet losses.

    Please help to resolve.

    I think everyone (or certainly a large amount of people) on Elemental are having issues currently. My entire FC got booted out at once the other night, and when I tried to log back in, half my characters weren't even loading and the others had a long wait to get back into the server. Since then I've seen several people disconnecting during dungeons.

    Same here. Playing in Tonberry from Singapore. Experienced insufferable lag since 17th evening. Checked hardware and software settings including changing DNS, restarted router/PC, pinged jp server with 30hops and came back with minimum 16% packet loss and ~200ms. Can't fight, can't play mahjong, can't interact with npcs or market boards without a 5-10 sec delay. Literally wasting my subscription here. Hope that they can fix this issue soon.

    I have been having the same problem, playing on Goblin from Australia, problem has been for about 5 days now. All the affected seem to be in Australia or South East Asia it seems and it's only affecting this game. How do I know which server IP I'm connecting to so I can do a traceroute?

    Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

    We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    -Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:

    55021 through 55040

    -Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
