new player (kinda), alot of questions

Hello, not my frist time playing, i did 4 years ago and left before even reaching level 15 becouse of the grass / shadow flicker mess, it made game unplayable.

Yesterday i was in quarentine with nothing more to do, bored of wow classic and decided to jump onto ff xiv and check if that issue was fixed. It was not, so i checked google for a fix and read sum where a guy forcing the game to be rendered at a higher resolution then the screen. So i did that and it seems fixed now, looks much better.

How can sumthing like this not be official posted on game webpage? if you do a quick search you can assume thousands of players left game as soon as they saw it

So i started a new character and i am at lvl 13 or 14 at the moment still on the first leveling zone, only have 1 class yet, im doing the main story quest, side quests that are nearby the main story one and also have been doing some guild leve quests along with that duty finder. Also i enjoy being a healer in mmoRPGS so im playing a conjurer

So i have alot of questions:

should i still be in that zone? My main story quest is still there but the rest of the quests are under my level.

should i do all guild leve quests? the level 10 ones i can make them scale to my level, what about the lvl 5 ones that only scale to lvl 9 (i think), should i be doing this 2?

whats the diference between normal quests and guiild leve quests?

how much should i be doing the dut finder challaganges? right now did once each senario

should i pick another class now? im a conjurer cuz im a healer main.

when should i be moving to other zones? after my story quests tell me to go there?

People seem kinda anti social, i tried to speak to random people doing same quests as me and in the duty finder thing and no one said nothing. Why is that .

Should i get a crafting profession now? im not a crafter type player, but no problem if i should pick one now. If i want to craft potions (alchemy) should i also grab botanist to gether stuff to do potions?

    How to join novice channel?

I want to be a healer but should i level up as conjurer? do i have any advantage in level up a dps class first then pick conjurer later? One advantage i see is that if i level a dps class now i can switch to AST after level 30 and AST also starts as lvl 30.

Likely because it's not a common issue. Glad you got it fixed though.

You can safely stick to the MSQ, don't worry about too many sidequests, just pick up the ones with the blue + icon, as they'll unlock things for you. Other sidequests aren't going to be great for exp, used mostly on alt classes or just for the lore.

should i do all guild leve quests? the level 10 ones i can make them scale to my level, what about the lvl 5 ones that only scale to lvl 9 (i think), should i be doing this 2?
At some point you have to do most of the guildleves to continue the MSQ, may as well do them now. But they can be saved for later.

whats the diference between normal quests and guiild leve quests?
Levequests are repeatable small quests you can use for exp. They excel for exp on crafter and gatherer classes. You get 6 leve allowances per day, which stack up to 100.
You can safely ignore them without missing out on anything.

how much should i be doing the dut finder challaganges? right now did once each senario
All dungeons and multiplayer instances are done through the duty finder. As you progress you'll understand the system better. When you hit over level 50 many more options open up for you there.

should i pick another class now? im a conjurer cuz im a healer main.
Whatever your heart desires on this one. There's no limit to what you can level but the limit of classes themselves.

when should i be moving to other zones? after my story quests tell me to go there?
More or less, yes. But don't be afraid to go exploring.

People seem kinda anti social, i tried to speak to random people doing same quests as me and in the duty finder thing and no one said nothing. Why is that .
It's likely they've been there 300 times already and just want to get it over with.

Should i get a crafting profession now? im not a crafter type player, but no problem if i should pick one now. If i want to craft potions (alchemy) should i also grab botanist to gether stuff to do potions?
Completely optional. Potions aren't going to be useful to you until much later in the game.

    How to join novice channel?
A mentor must invite you. Asking around in town should be enough to get you an invite.

I want to be a healer but should i level up as conjurer? do i have any advantage in level up a dps class first then pick conjurer later? One advantage i see is that if i level a dps class now i can switch to AST after level 30 and AST also starts as lvl 30.
While AST starts at 30, you wont get there until you're well past 50. It's in Ishgard which is a city story-locked to you until much later. It's part of the first expansion area. If you really like healing you have two options, Conjurer or Arcanist. ACN is a DPS class, but it's unique in such that it gets two job stones, one a healer, Scholar, the other a DPS Summoner.

Honestly, my advice from every question you asked is "Just do it." Don't let anyone hold you back! :3

1: Yes, you should be in that zone still. They increased the xp earned on lower level jobs, but this does have the side effect of outleveling your MSQ. However, nearly all the content in the game is gated behind the MSQ. If you go to the higher level zones you'll likely find no quests available to you.

2: No. Leve quests are completely optional. Essentially they are repeatable quests you can use to get xp, gil and some other rewards. Useful when taking other jobs up, but not so much for your first one that still has regular quests.

3: Normal quests (Your MSQ and sidequests) can only be done once. Leve quests may be done as many times as your allowances allow (you get 6 per day, stacking to 100), but they don't unlock anything, don't have much lore (and what little there is can be seen by just reading the leve description), and are much safer to ignore.

4: Duty finder challenges? Do you mean the roulettes? Roulettes are one of the best ways to get xp, and past 50 you'll use them to get endgame currency. That said, you really don't need more xp atm, so it can be safely ignored until level 50 where you'll want to use it to gear up for the next expansion.

5: There's no inherent advantage or disadvantage in taking up another class. It means you have more options for what to play, and gives you valuable perspective that may make you a better player, but it may also mean taking extra time to level a side job that you could spend going through the MSQ and focusing on your current class.

6: You'll follow along the MSQ.

7: This happens. Folks doing quests may be either fellow new players who might not know the chat system yet, or bots. If it's high level players joining your duties, it may be just that they just want to get in, get their endgame currency, and leave.

8: Your MSQ and sidequests will regularly supply you with gear and food. Potions are in an odd boat here: Curative potions like potions and ethers are low powered to the point of being nearly useless. Status removal potions are also useless most of the time, as anything you can remove with them you can also remove with esuna. There are potions that boost stats, and these can be VERY powerful and desired items, but they're annoying enough to make that I wouldn't worry about them until endgame. So, there's little need to level a crafter now. That said, if you WISH to level a crafter, there's no disadvantage to doing so either, and it can help you gear up and make food for any secondary jobs you may take up. That said... if you wish to level a crafter or gatherer, I highly recommend taking them all up. There is a TON of overlap where one class makes secondary ingredients required to make another class' items, and miner and botanist are both needed for those... fisher is needed considerably less, but it earns xp super fast and may as well take advantage of using the same gear as your other crafters while taking them up.

9: You'll need a mentor to invite you. Try shouting in a starting town.

10: Conjurer (and later white mage when it turns into one) makes a fine healer. Also, you can't change to AST until level 50 and unlocking Heavensward. You could level arcanist and change to scholar at level 30 (It's in a weird boat where the one class turns into two jobs, a dps with summoner and a healer with scholar)

What are you referring to? There isn't any need to do leves to progress the MSQ or anything else as far as I'm aware.

At one point the early story(patch 2.1ish) required you to get through the first 7 or so guildhests. You were helping the adventurers guild in revanents toll. They might have changed this though.

They did change this, and the poster was asking about guildLEVES not guildHESTS
