Can we get an option for overhead chat bubbles?

It would be nice if chat bubbles would appear over peoples heads when they talked. Everything in the chatbox that people say would also appear over the head of the person saying it. Would be a really nice addition and increase the ability to communicate. It also has other benefits such as for roleplaying etc. Please add this to the game!

Might be best used in actual RP hubs like Balmung though. But yeah it would be interesting but I might add a few limitations:

    1. /say, /yell, and /shout only for "universal" chat, where everyone in the zone can see it.
    2. /party: chat said in the Party channel would be visible only to those in the Party. /alliance would also have simialr restrictions.
    3. FC Chat, Linkshells and such would not be affected bar special permissions by the people that run the FC or Linkshells.
Also might have some interaction with the RP tag if that helps.

Ehhh, that kinda thing has mixed receptions among the RP community. Some people love chat bubbles, others find them horrendously annoying. I can also imagine they'd be a nightmare to navigate in any big RP event or god forbid in the Quicksands - which is already so populated it takes a good minute to even load every player model these days. Personally speaking I'd hate it immensely and would never use it - BUT I wouldn't mind it as an option for other people that I can personally toggle off.

Or even just a small bubble with “...” for a couple seconds in it to indicate who just dropped something in chat.

As soon as we have an option to hide them, I don't mind. I don't want it ends as it is in Aion or Linage with RMT and crafters advertising.

Normality is just an average. I'm the weird, you're the bizarre.

Really like this idea. A lot of times, people's text gets really bloated, and I'm not sure how that'd be mitigated if they try to put it in a bubble.

Much prefer a "..." that denotes the person having typed something.

This has been suggested before and the answer from devs was that it wasn't feasible to implement due to technical limitations.

If it's only an option I'm fine with it. Personally, I hate chat bubbles. But many players have asked for them over the past few years. So as long as I can hide them completely without being at any disadvantage, then I'm all for adding them.

Ive played a lot of PSO2 and honestly I dont know. I personally enjoy the idea a lot although it would become very annoying if there are a lot of people together and there's a lot of talking. I think it would need to have many limitation like the option to add that feature only in parties.

When I played WoW, bubble chat was really helpful during combat. Sometimes players get tunnel visioned and don't pay attention to the chat box, even when there are important messages that need to be read immediately. When this would happen, someone would use the chat bubble so that all players would see the message pop up on the screen. It would make such a HUGE difference and it kept us from wiping many times!
