Predictions for 5.3?

In the fight against the big YoRHa robot at around 1:44, there's been a lot of talk about the screens on the back displaying the YoRHa motto, "For the glory of mankind". I think what's more relevant is what's on the big screen below that - we have R030 and a countdown, which in the video is at 6. In NieR, R030 is a Pod Program, one of the special secondary attacks 2B can use with her little robot buddy. R030 is Hammer, specifically. There's also stuff like R010: Laser, A060: Physical Shield, R040: Blade, and A130: Bomb. Seventeen in all.

That has to be a mechanic indicator, right? The boss will perform a mechanic based on the associated Pod Program when the countdown hits zero.

That sounds sick and I hope all of them can be included via each party. I really liked the Glados boss for that very reason.

I really want to do the raid first before the MSQ, because at this point I have no idea where things will go. Yoko Taro doesn't make the same game twice, but some themes are still shared. And considering all of DrakeNieR, I'm hoping that we get a

rhythm game.

So I have a theory about the new dungeon and the massive people we fight in it....

Elidibus's plan:
Step 1: build up faith in the idea of warriors of light
Step 2: grant everyone the echo
Step 3: turn everyone into (Thordan/Shiva style) primals, which is now possible because they have the echo (like Ysayle)
Step 4: weaponise them against the 'warrior of darkness'

I’ve been playing through Nier: Automata for the first time because of Copied Factory. It’s a pretty engrossing game. But I wonder. Should I finish it before 5.3 drops to understand the full story of the raid?

It's hard to say, as we don't know exactly how YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse aligns with Nier: Automata in terms of continuity yet. But the upcoming raid might actually be a spoiler for N:A.

That... that could very well be. I keep thinking about the two bosses from the new dungeon and think that they look primalesque in design, and primals are a being of their own fancy as Hraesvelgr puts it.

Sounds plausible! The two that went off at the end of 5.2 could very reasonably be bosses (the big barbarian-like guy looks similar to the Roegadyn to be honest). Would be interesting!

I have one, not for 5.3,but for 5.55. And it relys on past trends.

I suspect that in the last patch of the expansion, we will windup with another dungeon featuring the Garleans (as Keeper and especially Baelsar's Wall and Gymlyt Dark does). The twist is that it may or may not tie into Weylt

Oh, I really like this.

It kind of plays into that old theory about the Warrior of light becoming so revered by eorzea that they become primal like, or at least would invoke others to call one in our image. I was never personally fond of the idea of that happening, as plausible as it was, but it fits very well here.

Perhaps this particular starshower isn't to awaken the echo, but to make the people of the First feel the world is ending (maybe it's not even an illusion this time). It would drive people's prayer and fervour for the warriors of light to save them into overdrive...and then our new Warriors of light as of 5.2 become the vessels for that prayer. Maybe Elidibus could frame us as responsible for this catastrophe.

Spoilered for NieR and Drakengard.

So, aether flows different through the shards right? As in, there's little to nothing in the Void, there's the most on the Source, and while not aetherless there's considerably less on the First. This means there could be a shard with so little that people cannot wield magics very strongly, right? What if, in the case of Drakengard (and DoD3) to NieR...

What if there's a shard akin to our own Earth. Not Earth, but similar and magitek rules. This world relies mostly on technology. And considering Ending E of Drakengard, I wonder if during the Shard's destruction (as in where Caim and Angelus came from), the same thing could have happened, which lead to NieR Replicant/Gestalt. A portal was opened from that shard to the one in which tech rules. WCS still happened, NieR Replicant/Gestalt happened which lead to Automata. And given how Accord can zip between timelines and dimensions, this android technology could have ended up with winding up on the First in an attempt to save humanity.
