I haven't seen anyone mention this but there is cause to speculate that the only trusts available in the new dungeon will be Alphinaud, Alisaie, Ryne, and possibly the Exarch. In the trailer the younger trust members are the ones running the dungeon with you, and the player is the tank. Now, we know the trust system needs a tank, and while Thancred is an option, there are story reasons to have him, Urinager, and Y'shtola not available. Y'shtola is probably still conducting research, and both Thancred and Urianger were shown in 5.2 to be suffering from Aether sickness from being on The First for so long.

Additionally, there are two scenes that support this. In the scene on the airship, with one of the supposed bosses from the new dungeon, only Alphinaud, Alisaie, and Ryne are shown, with the Exarch supposedly at the helm; since he states, later in the trailer, he's coming with you. The other scene is in Eulmore, where Thancred is attacked by a WoL manifestation. If you pause the scene right before he is attacked, you can see Him, Y'shtola, and Urianger looking at the star shower, the others no where in sight. We know from the trailer that during the course of the dungeon there is also a star shower. I doubt there would be multiple, so it stands to reason that these are the same shower.

Here are pictures to show what I mean.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Looking at that second picture, the end of 5.0 with its Elidibus on the Moon teaser came to mind. The idea that Hydaelyn and Her summoners intentionally obscured the history of the world, Elidibus revealing that Hydaelyn contacts (and possibly tempers) every single person who awakens to the Echo, and the apparent resurgence of Amaurot and a horde of Warriors of Light suddenly appearing to eliminate us, all seem connected to me.

I can't help but think Elidibus is trying to show the Scions just how far She'll go to ensure Amaurot and its history stay buried. Or something like that. EDIT: Like, it's a win/win thing with him. If they just kill us, then we're out of his way forever. And if they don't kill us, then what I said.

Not sure how well that'd hold up with the whole "And then Elidibus summons a bunch of people to fight us in Syrcus Tower" thing, though.

I am confused why the fake amaurot rises out of the sea, isn´t supposed to dissapear after a while or did elidibus let it rise up on purpose. Hmm ya he probably let it rise up to awaken the echo in the people of eulmore.
Judging from how the star shower is all over norvrandt, it might confirm that elidibus could maybe be an extension of zodiark.

Well I just concocted a theory hat has nothing to go off of other than a line in the trailer.

The Glowing Army Elidibus summons, those were....
    • the Warriors of Light from the rejoined shards, whose aether was merged with his (being the Heart of Zodiarc)
    • summoned using his Creation magics, but branded as a result and thus bound to his will
    • A gambit that heavily taxes his aether and is thus saved as a last resort. Also the reason Y'stola makes mention of a cacophony of voices, as overuse would either chnage Elidibus' personality or materializing this army comes at great risk of bring branded himself and thus being Zodiark.
    • Also would include the First's WoL as a timey-wimey technicality (as there is a Timeline where that shard was rejoined and intersects with this one via the Exarch and Tower)
In other words, the army are comprises of Warriors of Light, fallen, yet reborn as thralls of Zodiark. And Elidibus had this power all along.

    Prolly a crackpot theory

I wouldn't say sin eaters but close to it, like how Captain Maddison was exposed twice to Leviathan, the 1st tempering his mind, the 2nd caused a physical transformation. I think these light warriors are what happens if exposed too much to Hydelyan's influence, she is always trying to reach out to any that can hear her but what would happen if you continously hear her forcibly, that is what I think the light warriors are, and does not take much for Elidibus to convince those under such dire straits to attack us, especially if it meant preventing further disfigurement, which it would because Elidibus would have no need for the starshowers to continue with our deaths afterall (basically not telling whole truth a staple Ascian mo).

Are the people or shades or projections or w/e they are actually beings of Astral Light, do you think? Cus otherwise, you'd think we'd get sin eaters. Or at least something more solid in form and less ephemeral looking, given past experience.

Or could these beings technically exuding light actually be Dark aspected? Which would be more in Zodiark's wheelhouse.

Do we know if both polarities actually apply to both Dark and Light?

I think I get it now.

The trailer DOES start from the ending.
The glimmers of light and crystal falling from the sky are actually the Exarch's remains (you can see the same effects when he's in pain and crystalizing).
You can also see at the ending of the trailer a beacon of light piercing the sky, which is quite possibly the Exarch doing what we did to return the night/day, and it would also explain why Lyna looks at the sky distressed. We will see him sacrifice himself to save the First.

With the Gamespot interview from yesterday where Yoshi tells us that they will be "going against player expectations" for where we are going next, and that the players will be "surprised but pleasantly"; along with "It would be a good idea to brush up on Heavensward" what if we end up going to Meracydia?

That would be a HUGE chunk of content.

That would be nice. I'm honestly not expecting Garlemald and only that, I'm just not sure what they will pair it with. Anywhere that isn't the New World seems relatively feasible to tie in to the story currently with minimal fuss in terms of places we've heard of.

I'm all for Mercydia expansions and I want to make that distinction. Mercydia is apparantly as big as Othard+Illsbard+Aldenard combined I think it would be huge disservice to reduce it to 1 expansion only, heck you could turn Mercydia into season 2 of the story.

I have a feeling Yoshi is actually refencing Sharlayan and its Exodus. Just my hunch. Sharlayan could also have kept hidden knowledge about the ancients structures and their history. Demi-Ozma is experiment to sharlayans, so clearly something shady is going on behind their closed doors.

With Garlemald/Sharlayan/Thavnir as the major places we haven't gone to that we know about, yes the rest of Hingashi has yet to explored but they seem more stubborn than Ishgard about letting outsiders in.

HW dealt with Ishgard, Dravanian, Sharlayan, Mercydia, Ala Mhigo and Ul'Dah.

4 of those have been explored in sufficient depth to not been explored again (though i wish Ala Mhigo got more, it did still have half an expansion's focus).

It really just leaves us with 2 options and I just find it is too soon for Mercydia.
