On the last part, contact your bank by phone and find out if the amount you are seeing has been deducted from your account as a completed transaction or is in Pending status.
If you are view your statement online or via mail, it sometimes isn't easy to differentiate between deducted and pending nor your Available balance as compared to the Actual balance of monies in the account, depending on the bank and how they display these items (on mine, the pending transaction are shown separate from the deducted ones, and the pending one count against available balance and not actual balance)
