    From Scratch to Shadowbringers Timespan

Hello everyone, I just started playing 14 days ago. This is my first post here on the forums, wanted to wait till I caught up to stop in. I constantly was looking for info on how long it takes to get to Shadowbringers, and there's not a WHOLE lot online.

Today, I hit Shadowbringers with 210 hours on Steam, 8 Days, 20 hours, and 59 minutes game time. That's watching all cutscenes, reading all dialogue without skipping. However, I focused heavily on doing the MSQ, but was also a DPS so had longer queue times. If you focus ONLY on the MSQ, I would say you can get caught up in about 160-180 hours of playtime without skipping any of the story at all.

Just wanted to make this post for new players, since I saw a lot of things like 400 hours, 250 hours WITH skipping, etc.

P.S. I wasn't sure where to put this, so I placed it here.

Impressive, how did you find time to level your crafting classes while doing that?

I feel already burnt out with the MSQ. I just finished ARR and I'm doing some epilogue quests. Bombarded with blue quests at level 50 and hard modes of trials I've completed for. I'm wondering when Heavensward begins and how long THAT will go for.

Damn, I just started a couple days ago and I'm a casual with a capital C. So far I'm doing every sidequest too because I felt I would be missing something but after reading this I'm just gonna follow the MSQ without any hesitation...

Yeah, sidequests can be safely skipped. You get bits of lore, sometimes a piece of gear(though always something you can get somewhere else), and a little experience. The exception are the unlock sidequests(they have a different icon with a plus sign on it) - as these unlock extra features its ok to do them if you want. Unlocks can be all sorts of things, from optional dungeons to the gold saucer casino to the ability to change the appearance of your gear. Whether you decide to do all of them(learning a new dance?) or not is up to you.

More than likely worked on them while waiting on longer dungeon queues.
