    network path has packet loss problems

    Starting on 4/14/20 I started to notice some connectivity issues to the FFXIV server I play on (Gilgamesh). I started to do the standard troubleshooting, like I normally do, and after all the normal troubleshooting steps I started to look outside my network. I did a trace route to the server IP and lobby IP and it seems there is packet loss starting at miami and going all the way through the network to the game server. its random where I get the packet loss, sometimes its in miami, sometimes it's in san jose, sometimes it even occurs at the destination IP. I have eliminated all local network problems and it seems to be after the hand off from my ISP to the FFXIV network. below is a traceroute example:

    out of all the traces I have done there has never been any packet loss before the last embratel hop.

    I just wanted to make support aware of this. please let me know if there are any further diagnostics or information that may help in resolving this issue.

    I have the same issue, but mine started today. I contacted my local ISP that provided to me info that everything was running fine, I checked the router, ports and etc.
    This always happens after the DDoS attacks, something happens to this NTT route.

    Im having the same problem. It started wednesday (04/15) at night and I have been with the same problem since then. Maybe has something with DDoS attack we had this week.

    According to your trace route, you seem to be having some trouble with your connection pretty early in the route. Unfortunately, if you have already tried the standard troubleshooting, the issue most likely occurs on your way to the server. In this case, I'd recommend contacting your ISP and reporting the issue to them.

    Hi Einmimiria, how we are having problems early in the route if the problem is happening after the route reach the NTT servers?

    I was connected to the game and just got kicked from it with the message: "Connection with the server was lost. 90006"

    The issue seems to start far before that portion of the trace route. With your's in particular, you are getting ping times of about 200ms on the second hop, which is rather abnormal. The ping times get worse as they get further along. That's normal, but since the ping is so high to begin with, it becomes unstable further down the line. It's a bit difficult to tell where that is coming from, but since that can be caused by an unstable wireless connection, I'd recommend trying to use a wired Ethernet cable if you aren't already.

    Hi thanks again for the reply.
    As I live far from the FF servers, my ping is usually at this level of 200 and this ok, no problem with this. The problem is the packet loss after the NTT route that started after this week DDoS attack.
    I play on PC and PS4 both rocked to the cable and I am having problems with both machines after this week attack. Today I am having several disconnects with 90006 and this was not happening last week or even last month.

    Im getting the same error message since april 15, im being disconnected tons of time everyday, we need support.

    I am connecting from Brazil and I am using a hard wired connection directly to my modem. all other services and games (Netflix, World of Warcraft, Call of duty, Rainbow 6 Siege, Etc) have no connectivity issues. 200 MS is a normal latency for people connecting to US gameservers from South America.
