No, seriously. Kids shouldn't even be playing without parental permission (and for those that do, well they're no one else's responsibility, period).

As a society we are all responsible for our children. Permission to play or not does not deem them left to their own judgment.

I just want to clear somthing up, my example was not to derail the subject. I simply think this sort of content is highly controversial and a waste of my monthly sub fee.

I prefer your solution. Let the players create their own bonds, but no sanctioned marriages in FFXIV.

I actually posted it earlier in this thread that SE should give the players the tools to do exactly that, albeit for a different reason: I've gone to enough "marriage" events hosted by SE's GMs in FFXI to know I wouldn't want to see one ever again, they were always crappy and too corny.

Wrong. I am no more responsible for your children than you are of mine; if for instance, you want to hook your kids up to drugs, it simply is not my responsibility nor my place to care. Kids are only the responsibility of their own family and those whom are paid to handle them.

Just let's keep it simple... Marriage/Unions add to the social fabric of the game. Those who feel that the game is only about battle content just haven't looked at the community around them.

And once we do, please boil it down to consenting adults, the way the real world is doing. No need to establish or define categories.
