Help: How does one actually recruit a friend?

I have someone new to MMOs I have brought in to play with.

I generated my recruit a friend code for them, but the only button in mogstation for them is a button that says "transfer to regular service"

There is no place for them to enter my code.

If they click that and enter the code for the game,(which has a 30 day subscription included) wouldn't that mean my code can't then be used?

What am I missing XD thank you

The 30-day subscription included with the game itself will not count against the Recruit-a-friend rewards, nor prevent the friend to enter the recruit code.
The Recruit-a-friend code must however be used before any regular subscription is purchased, and rewards from it will become available after a regular subscription has been purchased.
(Note that for a normal recurring subscription the actual purchase won't happen until the initial 30 days included with the game runs out. Game-time cards will be applied immediately on the other hand.)
