    OTP issues

    so having some issues with OTP atm, earlier i fell for one of those covid messages that are phishing scam sites, soon as i realized what i did, i changed my password, dumped my gil in the fc chest and demoted myself and alts, so now im trying to add OTP to my acct to make sure its completely secure (still online in game) but it says its already installed when i try to install it on my phone through the site (following the directions that are on the site) and im not getting an email or anything when i do install it on my phone, and my account says that OTP is not registered... so im at a loss here, just wanting to make sure this cant happen again (also cant remember if i did put on OTP previously, if i did i dont have the emergency removal code cuz its been forever ago) any help is appreciated

    Check your account info for the email its sending too and make sure that is the same email you are checking. Just saying this as now adays people tend to have more then one email account. Also check you spam folder in your email in case the registeration email was sent there which can happen.

    How is this not a technical support issue? They're having trouble setting up the authenticator for their account.

    ...also took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize what was meant by OTP

    They (tech support forum here) simply lack the means to help with account related issues particularly with OTP. OP should go the SE account management page to get the right help with their account itself and OTP because that probably will end be needing verification. Theres the link to se account management support.

    I think they could be a bit more helpful in redirecting issues like this instead of the lets move this in general discussion
