Very dumb and embarrassing question about Cutter's Cry

Just started leveling a healer recently. And for some reason (I don't know why) I die every single time on the last boss of this dungeon.

The mechanics are super easy. Blue (Ram's Voice) means run. Violet (Dragon's Voice) means stack. Yet every single time the boss uses Ram's Voice, I run and get impaled by an ice spike 100 yards away it seems. Seriously, I could be at the very edge of the room where it is physically impossible to go any farther, and die by an ice spike. Every. Single. Time.

So, my question is, what am I doing wrong here? I've watched videos, I even ran it unsynched on my main without attacking it too much just to see the mechanics. Again, they are super easy. Yet I keep dying.

So I HAVE to be doing something wrong.

what is your ping? sounds like lag.

your server says you are on Exodus so you are on Primal data center which means North America. Are you in North America?

could be network lag, or maybe rendering lag if you're on a potato pc so you don't see the telegraph until it's too late to dodge. a friend of mine thought titan was awful for years because her gfx card was very basic, not a gaming card, so she was never able to dodge landslide until she got a new pc.

I also have issues with dodging that.

The weird thing is that it's only Ram's Voice. I don't consistently get hit by Dragon's Voice the same way, despite usually standing in the mid-range that means I need to move to dodge it.

Got a couple of questions:

1. Are you using Legacy or Standard controls? I have an easier time going backwards using Legacy controls.

2. Were you also targeted by an orange crosshair? If so, you have to get away from the purple orb as well because it hurts and gives Paralysis should you get hit by it.

One tip given your situation is to always stand outside of the ice attack range only moving in for the lightning one. Since it looks like you're a RDM according to the sidebar, you could wait until immediately after it uses one of those moves to use your melee combo. At that level, you've got a bit more leeway with balance overcapping.

Since you mention the colors, my recommendation is don't wait for the color message.

1. The color message appears on this specific chimera fight, but chimera mobs appear in many other places. All have The Dragon's Voice and The Ram's Voice attacks, but no color message.
2. The color message appears later than the cast bar for the attack.

Ignore the color message. Watch for the cast bar instead.

Ram's Voice locks in more quickly than the cast bar indicates. This is true of all Chimera variants, including those in POTD and HoH. It also applies a powerful ice DOT. Take the suggestions offered in thread, and stay outside its radius, move in when it's Dragon's. Simplest solution.

It also has another attack, Ram's Keeper or something like that, which has a circular telegraph that drops an ice puddle. I don't think that's what's killing you, but if your ping is really bad, you may be getting hit by it too.
