Just have DA replace LD, and change DRK intosomething like FFT:WotL's iteration. That way, it's not like another revised version of PLD or WAR

DRK lost a good majority of its class identity with the changes brought forth by Shadowbringers.
Maintaining MP regen by intelligently timing use of Blood Weapon, Blood Price, and Carve-and-Spit was very satisfying.
Dark Arts was the most satisfying element by far. People might complain about the "spammy" nature of the ability, but the truth is you weren't meant to spam it.
You were meant to time its use as well, juggling between Dark Arts, Blackest Night, and your AoE enmity builder (Unleash, in this case).
And let's be real- the animation for Dark Arts was VERY cool. The sound effects, the animation of your character powering up...
The general change to tanking- that is, the removal of stance dancing, I approve of.
But DRK feels like it's completely lost its identity. It plays almost identically to WAR, but with even less options.
But to be realistic, it's possible to merge the old and the new together. Dark Side should be a toggle, like it was before, or just a passive that is always active- damage bonus at the cost of no MP Regen. Dark Arts should be an active ability, but should also be possible to gain for free after The Blackest Night is depleted, much like how it works now. So you can either use it with an MP cost, or get a freebie from good timing from your damage mitigation. Not sure about Edge/Flood, but they aren't particularly satisfying to use, both in terms of damage and in terms of visuals.
Would I prefer to go back to the previous iteration of Dark Knight, just with the addition of the raidwide buff and Esteem? Sure. But it's also difficult to rework an entire class after it's been rebalanced in this fashion.
I miss dark arts with dark passenger for the blind. That coupled with the parry defensive was a legit combo.
I like how they removed Dark Arts and just replaced it with Dark Arts but called them Edge/Flood of Darkness, then proceeded to gut every other aspect of DRK I liked, like the Dark Arts/Abyssal Drain loop for AoE.
Honestly, DRK has just had so much stripped away since its inception in HW that its hard to look at, we lost Shadowskin, Scourge, Powerslash, Blood Price, Dark Passenger, Dark Dance/Low Blow procs, the hastes and so forth, its very disheartening to see DRK in its current state, it doesn't feel or even play like DRK much anymore, more like diet warrior.
