They did kinda drop the ball on the relic weapon this time around, it seems like. The fact that the tank ones have tenacity on them is just aggravating.

It's literally the very first step, whatever stats are on them are completely irrelevant right now. As long as it doesn't turn into Eureka Pyros' RNG BS dictating stat allocation, which undermines our agency to customise our relic how we see fit, which will defeat the original purpose of doing a relic weapon in the first place. As long as the customisation part is of our own choosing, then it will be worth doing, until then, not worth worrying prior to this about stats.
You can pretty much bet they're going to throw an element of RNG into it. It's only a question of how crippling it'll be before they get raged at by players for a few months and change it to be more favorable.

I didn't mind RNG elements where you gained extra stats per Umbrite in HW, can't correctly recall if there was (probably was) with Alexandrite in ARR. But to have RNG dictate what stats we actually get, and how much per roll, made me give up on it in it's entirety. It didn't help to have 1,000 crit dangled in front of you where you needed 5 god tier rolls in a game with terrible RNG for the most part, it has made me not want RNG to be as heavily replied upon on the relic like it was in SB while it would be more favourable if rng had a lighter influence in the relic weapon. One can only be hopefully.

Pretty much this. Weapons have traditionally been the hardest thing to get for jobs and these relics are essentially free. I'm at 15/17 currently and I really haven't focused on them at all, just doing what I normally do.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
