Thread: 5.25 Relic weapons? Get them or pass on them?

I got the DRk weapon, and despite it having 5 materia slots the equipment picker tells me to toss that thing back in the water and keep my Ruby Ex weapon.

Would folks agree with that or not?

Those tank weapons have a whole lot of tenacity on them...

Should I just give the rest of them a pass? Toss the DRk one into my glamour chest (and yet not glam to it because I'm not into shovels...)?

How do they compare to the Ruby weapons?

Get what you want. The cost is low.

They're, at worst, just a tad weaker than Ruby.

Looking at stat calculations, it looks like you'll actually swing about .3% higher on average when it's all said and done, but your "Best" runs are going to be worse since those tend to be based on where your DHits land.

Edit: Apparently not all tank weapons are det/ten. The above was assuming Det/Ten.

I never did the relic quests in past expansions but then in the past I was mainly tanking in WoW and an extreme casual here...
I may have an account from 2013, but this is actually the first tier I've ever done savage, and maybe the second where I've done any Ex-fights... (and I'm stuck as OT on E5S, so spend half my time out of melee range kiting a bird... /offtopic-rant)


Just wondering now, in the current tier of things - as I'm actually more of a 'noob' to endgame than my account date would let on...

But that makes sense that it's just checking iLevel.

You can get the relic weapon for glamour, Let's see how the weapons will turn out. If you looking for stats wise so far that I know of the WAR relic axe is worth getting You can put two CRTs and Three DET

I think the game values the Crititical Hit and Determination over Determination and Tenacity or even Tenacity and Skill Speed, but I think the game just values Critical Hit more than any other stat in the game... which means they need to buff tenacity and skill speed to be just as good as determination... but this is just guesswork at this point...
