Game Crashes on "Old Enemies New Threats" Quest ... First quest following 5.25 patch

Hello, let me just start out by saying how much I like this game. And I appreciate the hard work y'all put in to keep things running smooth for us players.

So the issue began following 5.25s patch, right now I do not have crashes during older cut scenes.

As of lately when accepting the quest and going into the cutscene it takes me to a black screen with the loading wheel in the bottom right, the wheel just loads perpetually. Or sometimes it will error out.





I have tried in DX9 and DX11, updated my drivers, disabled start up items, overlays, deleted the user data folder.

It is running on a laptop with integrated graphics, and on external HDD.


Maybe theres something else I can try except for throwing my laptop out the window and getting a new one or getting a ps4 version.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

It looks like your PC has an integrated graphics card. Unfortunately, these aren't officially supported to run the game. While you may have been able to play before, it's not guaranteed that you'll be able to play after every patch.

We do have some more troubleshooting you can try, but you still might have some issues due to not meeting the minimum requirements:

1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs.
3) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
4) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)

You can also try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

in my thread, it seem the only way to get this fix and i dont believe we should have to do this since its their patch update that making the crash, is to reinstall your OS... yes thats right reinstall your OS not just the game but the whole OS. if you dont have a custom rig or the windows USB and Key. doing so you might mess up your rig... you can always do a restore to default but at what cost... losing song, video, picture, MEME.... i mean you can do a restore and keep files but that might keep the file the FFXIV is in still crash...
