Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

If it is only happening with one character, you may want to try deleting the locally-saved data folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I've done everything in this post, and it doesn't fix the problem. Changed the Internet Explorer, ports are all open, don't have a firewall other than Microsoft basic security, deleted the folder, and so on. I'm getting booted at least once a night, can't log back in for anywhere for 15-30 minutes. It's the same thing every single time. I get 2002 errors, the rare times it takes me to char select and makes me wait in queue because the World is full, I get to loading screen then get kicked out of that as well with a 90002 error.

When this happens, I can connect to any other game or webpage on the planet, except connect to the game server.

    Hi,

I just found an older post that had the instructions of:

    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.

Your post didn't have the line about changing the Compatibility. Is that still something I should be doing, changing it to Windows 7? My default was at Windows 8. I was confused when I tried to follow your instructions about hitting apply because it was greyed out as I hadn't made any changes.
