Balmung... I want my quietness back

I'm from Fabul. Back in my day streets of Uldah were quiet. There were some shouts for stuff but it was few. Then we merged.
I can no longer craft peacefully on the streets. I blame Besaid. Pretty sure I'm just going to blist spammers and leave my shouts on. I think that'd be my best option.
Anyone else annoyed by the new pointless commotion?

I'm perfectly fine with people shouting for parties, or looking for help with something. But the ol' B-List comes out when people carry on conversations in shout, completely spamming out those who legitimately need help.

Gridania has been pretty nice atmosphere.

I'm also considering crafting loads on Gargoyle's Crossing, pretty amazing view

If it honestly bothers people this much, it is as easy as filtering shout while you're in town...

Having a conversation in /sh isn't spamming...if you're constantly shouting the same exact thing (Casino), then you're spamming. So yes, if someone is actually spamming I say blist them.

people carry conversations in shout... it is like, I dunno, stupid?
AND people would get greater benefit for lfg or lfp with the search function. Pretty sure that is why it was added. I could be dumb though.

I'm in the same vein as Kaplan.

The shouts were too much post merge, so now they're not in my General, Communications (LS/PT/Whisper), or Battle/Synthesis tabs (only stuff I make or my interactions with enemy), but in my "Other Battle" tab.

Too many people would need to be blacklisted to make it work. And can still see what's going on with a quick tab flick rather than unfiltering shout chat.

Like it or not /shout is a chat channel. Expecting people to not chat in it is well...silly.

Basically...you don't want people to /sh for LFP, don't want them to have conversations...what exactly should /sh be used for?

People should still use the party search features...but /sh for PUGs is still going to be pretty common for a while I think. If for no other reason than you never know who is going to decide to help you out, even if they weren't necessarily looking to do anything.

PS: This isn't really directed at you personally...seems like everyone I know is saying the exact same thing...I just don't agree lol

I can understand the lfp... but shout stupid conversations? Sure a shout out once in a while is funny or okay... but like a 10 min long shout conversation?

Eh...what do you want people to do? Everyone who happens to join in a conversation should party up and switch to /p? lol It all comes back to this:
MMO town + Players = Conversation.

If you're the type of player who doesn't really care about other player's normal conversations...chat filters.
