This was just the starter of the relic. The next steps will likely have a lot more to do.

I thought the new trial was fun, it was certainly a challenge at first. Beat it with in an hour though, so it wasn't to difficult. The rewards are okay, dying the gunbreaker outfit was awesome though. I hope they continue to make more challenging trials for the relics.
I have a feeling the other shoe is going to drop for the next step, and the steps beyond that, sort of like Ishgard with the expert recipes. I appreciate them giving me a reason to care about poetics again for now...
Usually the dyeable AF gear is easier to get but this time around it is locked behind EX content so that did surprise me. It’s fun, though!

Should have been the 5.05 or 5.1 content with appropriate ilvl iweapons, to give poetics a use during the initial push, with 5.25 content being, if nothing else, glowy weapons. This should have been an introductory chapter, though, perhaps released in 5.2

I’m fine when how short it is at the moment, I have hopes it’ll get fleshed out later down the line.
But the armour, dear lord what was sqeenix thinking? Gonna copy and paste what I said in a thread I made cause I think it explains why I think this is a bad decision
Sometimes EX in PF can be hell depending on your teammates, you can practice and research all you like but there’s no changing bad teammates, you also run the chance of running into aholes who demand a perfect clear on day 1 and will btch and moan if you mess up on day 1, I’ve seen these PF’s and encountered people like this in the past. There’s also the fact that some people don’t do EX/Savage, I for one get stressed out of my mind in the PF thanks to previous experiences and eventually there comes a point where I start playing like crap, that’s why I don’t play Savage/EX.
Of course, there’s always a argument for good rewards thanks to increased difficulty, a hard boss is hard in a single player game because it’s hard, the same can be said for EX sure, but in said single player games you don’t need to be worrying about your teammates, and if you get stressed you can easily take a break and come back later with a clear head, but in FF14? That boss can be much, MUCH harder thanks to your fellow party members, and what are you gonna do when you take a break in FF14? Sure you may be well rested and refreshed, coming into this with a clear head, but what of your party members? This new batch could just be as worse then the last.
So why did they lock it behind EX?????? Dyeable artifact armour was never much of a haste to get until now.
Be careful what you wish for, I imagine an awful grind is coming our way. If everyone says it's too short, devs just might double down on that grind. Remember what the 2nd eureka was like.
could this be the first step of Raid Trusts?
oh man that would be awesome!
I miss eureka, I do hope later stages take after it more. Either way I do overall see this style being better received in the future verse eureka.
They are an interesting spot when it comes to grind and demand. Sure they could have made it longer, and maybe they will (which I would welcome I love grinding style content) but for the general masses not sure such a grind would be desired.

I like that it's shorter as I also want the DoH/DoL relics and appears i'll need to yellow script farm my brains out to get them all. The weapons so far look decent to great too. My personal favorites are the GNB and DRG thus far. Good job Square!
Another Eureka would have had me unsubbing until next expansion.
