Game causing video card to shut down/crash.

So I've been having an issue where, at random, the game will just have a stroke or something and crash my gpu. The whole screen goes black with glitching noises in the background, it does not come back and I have no control over my computer other than to shut it down. I have been having this for the past couple weeks (roughly starting around April 13th, go figure) and have looked it up a bunch and tried everything I can think of outside of re-installing the game and sacrificing a goat to the software gods.

This is the ONLY game or program that does this; my GPU doesn't overheat, my fans don't spin out of control, it doesn't BSOD and there's no crash or error log that I've found. I've tried underclocking my GPU and it hasn't helped, and to make things worse it is TOTALLY random, no pattern at all.

I'll try to re-install the game but I don't hold out hope for it. If someone can suggest something or maybe provide me some tips on preforming exorcisms on software it'd be appreciated. For now I'm going to go cry in a corner.

A lot of people are having the same issue or, at least, a similar one about gpu crashes. It cames up after the last patch, I can't play anymore since that, almost instantly crashes... And same as you started around like 14 april...

Just see the other topics in the forum and a lot of people are having problems with this, and the moderators give the same "fix".

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have any changes happened to the device before the issue began? We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs.
3) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
4) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
5) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
6) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything

I've tried all those fixes already with no improvement, as I said this started after 5.25 came out, so something in that patch is causing this to happen. It would be great to have some sort of timeframe estimate as to when it'll be fixed but I don't expect that there is one what with COVID shutting everything down.

Give a look on topic "dx11 crashes" on the forum. There are some quotes wroten by me, that explain to moderators the problem. They just do CTRL+C / CTRL+V as fix to crashes. And the problem is the game after the patch.
