I wonder how they are going to do this in the next 5.x5 patches. We know that we are getting new field content in the next stage alongside a new public dungeon (5.35), and that is probably going to be the story going forward... But then they brought in the Dramaturge with an interface similar to Kugane Minstrel and Minstrelling Wanderer (in that of telling a story), so they can't just have decided to use him to unlock a single trial in that manner... right?

I am assuming that each Resistance story step is going to have a new trial we fight in the story mode with the end reward being the next stage of our 1st 5.X Relic weapon upgrade for completing the story quest with some grinding if player choose to upgrade a alternate 5.X relic weapon then we unlock a Extreme Mode for Relic Armor upgrades.

The way I am guessing things, our 1st 5.X Relic Weapon are basically our rewards for completing the Story Quest but a 2nd or etc 5.X Relic Weapon for a alternate job is going to require some decent grinding. Relic 5.X Armor is, on the other hand, upgraded through defeating Extreme Mode trials of the Story Quest trials to obtain the materials needed to upgrade the Relic Armor set each Resistance Story update.

I will not be surprised if the Final Quest for Resistance is to have our character awaken the True Form of our 5.X Relic weapon to defeat the final boss during the Final Battle of Resistance storyline (with any alt 5.X relic weapon can just replay this story trial again from Dramaturge to awaken them). However, as I said this is just a guess.

I wonder where Bozja is, beyond the vague "it's in Ilsabard." If Gabranth controls it and the Bozjan resistance is part of the Eastern Alliance, I guess it's pretty much right on the Othardian border.

I do find it rather odd that the music in Gangos, that mosaic at the end of the questline, and the possibility of

all evoke kind of an Indian vibe - and yet Hrothgar have Slavic names.

No weirder than Ala Mhigo having Turkish and Indian elements in their culture, despite Highlanders having Germanic sounding names. Or Ul'dah being a desert sultanate yet the royal guard are called Paladins.

Consider it more akin to an explanation on how Alexander could see the timelines. It's taking a possibility on how the current events may run and tells her "This is probably going to happen based on how you and others are going to react to things." Meaning a logical look at what is coming based on known variables on how individuals may react to specific stimuli via events.

There's some evidence the Ascians use a similar method to plan their actions. Like Nabriales saying to Elidibus "your intercession was not foretold". Or Elidibus remarking how history went off the rails in the 5.0 stinger.

Not really a fan of the whole IVth Legion Legatus not being purebloods thing, though I imagine there’s some explanation for that later. I was also under the impression that ‘sas’ was the highest rank available to non purebloods, so this revelation kind of throws a minor wrench into the background of a personal role play thing.

On another note, I kind of realized something. Did any of the NPCs in this quest line even explicitly mention that Varis is dead? I don’t recall that being mentioned at all, since all I remember is that the Bozja resistance is said to be making their move based on what happened in Ala Mhigo and Doma, and not due to anything within Garlemald itself. Since it’s probably assumed that this quest line is happening independently from the main quest (at least after the baseline minimum to unlock it), the omission of certain details could be a hint of what’s to come later. The developers won’t want to commit to something major in one quest line only to create a paradox in the other, like the level 50 CUL quest.

(If my memory isn’t faulty, they avoided talking about his death in the Ruby Weapon quest line too. Not to mention that both the remnants of the VIIth and the IVth Legions are noted to be behaving erratically and independently, which is something else that gives the writing team a way to future proof the quest lines around certain subjects.)

One of Gaius' adopted kids explicitly stated that she didn't think he was actually responsible for Varis' death and that they'd help prove his innocence if he decided to return to Garlemald.

In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if the news of the Emperor's death was being kept under a lid to quell the possibility of increased resistance from territories under Garlean rule. Ilsabard is a massive region so word may still not have gotten out everywhere. We don't know exactly how much time has passed since his death, either.

I believe the Wandering Dramaturge acknowledges that Varis is dead in the dialogue leading up to unlocking the EX Trial.

Since I’m assuming the devs want to avoid another 50 CUL quest situation, Varis is pretty definitely dead then.

It's all still salvageable as long as the public thinks Varis is dead at this point...

The problem with Nanamo is that the audience (and the WoL) thinks she's dead at that point, so seeing her alive is jarring. But if we find out that Varis survived but we want to keep that knowledge secret, there's nothing strange about another character referencing his death.

After thinking back on it, I kind of feel like Mikoto is already raising quite a few death flags...

-Is a fairly minor character.
-Has Echo ability that while limited, is still potentially a bit too convenient from a narrative standpoint.
-Seemingly has a crush on Cid that might make her do something foolish or reckless if he's in danger.
-Mentor already sacrificed herself for the greater good and may serve as inspiration in a time of crisis.

I'm half-expecting she's going to get a vision of something really bad happening and will somehow manage to actually avert it, though at the cost of her life.

Though I'm probably just being paranoid that they'll axe the sole Sharlayan Au Ra representation we have currently.

In regards to the Echo future sight ability, talking with Mikoto about it leads to theories about Mezaya Thousand Eyes, the person that prophesised the cycles of Calamities and the 7th Calamity as well, also having this future vision Echo, which is why their prophecies were always extremely accurate. So, if it is true, that's a big additive retcon right there.
