    It is jarring but I'm confident we'll see an answer as the storyline unfolds, that's not something they would just leave as a big question mark.
    It's worth noting that in FF12 Gabranth (and Basch, since Basch was his brother there) were half-Archadian on their mother's side. So maybe 14's Gabranth is half-Garlean.
