But if you exclude the marketboard, the relic weapon takes less time to make than any crafted weapon ( since mats requiere tomes + several DoH, DoL AND are on timers). And these aren't really difficult to make either.

I really want to know your poetics method that lets you get 1k tomestones in about a hour.

I think people are underestimating the Poetics grinds for Relics 4 through 17 because they started 5.25 with enough Tomestones that they could get an additional 2 Relics after the instance was completed.

I was comparing the steps needed for the first relic weapon versus any crafted weapon at launch. Relic weapon is baby content compared to the crafted one, and it wasn't even difficult to make when it came out.
Getting 3 base relics without even trying isn't quality content for me. Maybe for you, but not for me.

There's a lot of big JP game releases this week/month, and I am sure they've tried to keep things brief in order to allow for that.

Not sure what the guy had to drink when they balanced the crafter vs the gatherer relics but it wasn't the good stuff.

Easy. Do MSQ roulette. It's 300 for roulette plus like 400? for the run. Do other roulettes for more. It's really easy to cap them or almost in a single roulette reset.

For real. The grind for those relics is insane, and I'm not even done with Diadem yet. I have no clue how long it will take me for them, I think I'll only do it during dead times or I'll go crazy.
If people want grind there's plenty to find there, and in Firmament in general, but I guess if it's not combat grind, grind doesn't matter.

This thread right here. Perfect example of why most forums suck. I just finished the relic quest and kept thinking how good it was and how the devs continue to deliver quality content.

It took me about five hours or so to finish everything because I never did the Ivalice raids. So I did the entire series in one sitting.

For me this was a great night. Went and knocked out Ivalice which I would normally not do. Then did a truly engaging solo duty to get the relic weapon. And since I literally went from Orbonne Monastery directly to the relic quest, it felt like one big story.

So for all my effort I got relic weapons for the three jobs I have at 80. It was awesome and felt very rewarding for the long night of gaming. And you know what? The queues for the raids were about five minutes, if that, for a DPS, so lots of people were doing them. This tells me that a lot of people were probably happy to get the clear and then be rewarded with a nice weapon at the end of the night.

This truly is a great game and I’m happy to be part of it.

The fact that YOU never cleared the Stormblood raids before yesterday doesn't magically add content or another layer of entertainment to this patch. Many people have completed that raid series (which ended two years ago btw) already

So as others have noted, this is just the first step. I'm just happy it wasn't a FATE grind this time. Even Eureka was nothing but FATE grinds, just in a unique zone.

There was a warning that subsequent steps would require a "significant investment in time" so take your freebie 485 and enjoy it while it lasts.

I've still got 3 of the original relic weapons, 5-6 of the anima weapons, and most of the Eureka weapons to complete. Oh, don't forget the PotD weapons and the HOH weapons either. Any given single weapon is "easy" to get but when you start trying to do all 20+ for the set, it suddenly turns into a massive time sink that sucks up the majority of your non-endgame play time if you get really serious about it.

Those take ~45 minutes each. Except fishing, because fishing.

We have at least a month (and probably more than that) until the next steps.

You can get just under 1k poetics a day doing the 4 poetics roulettes (and i think theres more available if you dont have every class capped at 80)

You'll have all those relics finished by then without any real effort, especially if msq/alliance are still giving you XP.


Hunts give an incredible amount of poetics as well.

Eureka, although i'd argue it can be faster than 1000 poetics in an hour.

Well, yes, that’s my point. Lots of people who don’t post in the forums likely never did the Ivalice raids either. For us, it was new content. The near instant queues seem to validate that.

Which is probably why SE locked this behind an old raid.
